A friend is down in Nice with his wife who's in recuperation after an illness. Really not too relaxing for them but I know they're okay.

I have VStudio Community 2015 on a VM.
In the recent past I developed my ASP.NET MVC-based web site and components in Community 2015 and I've written articles here on those projects.
It's been a few weeks and I just opened VStudio 2015 on that machine to create a new MVC project and there is no choice anywhere in the projects to create an MVC project.
I cannot find it.
I googled and found the stackoverflow (below)and have tried all these things and nothing.
I'm uninstalling the Web Developer Tools and I'll install them again and see if it works.
Crazy, Microsoft. Crazy.

Microsoft is too big to have bugs in their code.
They're not allowed. I'm placing them on double-secret probation!!

# of bugs is relative to size of company.

Absolutely! No one even uses my code except me.
I can have all the bugs I want.
It's the way it was meant to be.

Ooooooooooo-kay then...
Some things make you wonder...
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?
The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism.
Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

Microsoft will add/remove the packages you need, whether you need them or not.
And I mean, remove the ones you need. Add the ones you don't.

This creates an MVC application as far as I understand it.
New Project
ASP.Net Web App
From the ASP.NET 5 Templates, select
Web Application
The resultant code that is created has folders for Controllers, Models and Views, which is an MVC app as I understand it.
You are expected to set your folders and project name as you go through, of course.

Thanks for the input. I finally got it working.
I think I also forgot that now, the MVC Project doesn't show up until after you select ASP.NET Web App and previously that meant the project was just an ASPX type of web app.
A bit confusing in the VStudio interface.
Thanks again,

When the end users complain about why an application doesn't have X or Y functionality I am going to give them this reply:
"Anything that is perfect, isn't useful. Anything that is useful, isn't perfect."
if (Object.DividedByZero == true) { Universe.Implode(); }

So I guess that is your "perfect" answer?

Yes

But by your definition, not useful.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...
|
|

I can think of a few dozen end users that are just that too
if (Object.DividedByZero == true) { Universe.Implode(); }

Then by your definition they are Perfect users!
I'd quit while I was ahead if I was you!
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Never surrender

I'd forgotten that one! Might be worth watching again...
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

"Never give up! Never surrender!"
I don't know if you mean the same movie, but it's one of my favourites.

I'd even forgotten Sigourney Weaver was in it!
I was probably drunk when I watched it last time...

She didn't have a big role; she just repeated what the computer said.

"I only have one job on this ship. It may be stupid but I'm gonna do it!" I always loved that scene.

So you're saying that you're neither useful nor perfect?
I wanna be a eunuchs developer! Pass me a bread knife!

Certainly explains my wife and I.
I'll leave it to you to figure out which of us is which!
