I know, but please don't wear them while driving. Otherwise I will one day have enough and install this [^] in my car.

Almost. Twice a year an invasion force of 'NL' license plates comes through, headed for Austria and back again. They drive in slow, tight formations and generally hold everything up. I blame it on those shoes that they never learn to drive.

I never said I'm from Holland (I am though, I just never said it)

Yeah, but my point is that surely there are Dutch Asians? So one doesn't necessarily rule out the other???
Anyway, have you considered that it hasn't only detected that you're Asian, but also in dire need of beginner material?

Sorry, I had one. Very disappointing.
It was an early one though, maybe Nokia-made ones were better.
If you can keep your head while those about you are losing theirs, perhaps you don't understand the situation.

Everybody has their own phone brand that they like and are attached to. For me, I had a WP7, a WP8, tried Android for a few months and then went to WP10. I have large hands, so I am a fan of the live tiles and the instant access to information provided on the home screen. I also like the WP index approach to getting at apps, contacts, etc. I like that if I'm browsing a web site during the day, I can bookmark it and pick it up from my laptop in the evening. I'm a fan of One Note and use it across my devices. I also like controlling my XBOX from my phone and easily responding to XBOX messages. IMO WP is a good product and MS as usual fell on their face in the marketing process. When I look across the devices in my household; XBOX, desktop, laptops(x4), tablets(x3) the Surface Phone provides an OS consistency and better fit in to this environment.

I was one of the 12 people owning a Windows Phone, from 2015 to 2017. It was similar to my 2005 Motorola, only slightly worst.

Oh yes, it was great not having access to anything no social because the versions are stuck a couple of years backwards, no apps, no popular services, no integration.
The day I used a high quality Android I felt as if I was stepping out in the third millennium. I won't even discuss the aftermarket support.
My Lumia wasn't a bad phone, at all, it was just completely replaceable with a 2008 flip-phone.

I have access to everything I need, and it all works fine. But then again, I'm not really all that interested in what other people are eating for lunch, or what the Kardashians are up to, but hey, if that is your thing. More power to you.

I missed only
* LinkedIn
* Google maps
* ViaMichelin maps
* Highway payments online
* Train timetables and real time information
* Bus timetables and real time informations
* Gmail instead of a buggy client that didn't allow me to send attachments different from an image, cool for not sending out curriculums or documents
* Cinema app
* Half a dozen shop apps that gave me real discounts
* Stocard, so I don't have to keep 20+ fidelity cards in my pockets or choose befoerhand where to go
* CCTV of my house
* Drone control
* TomTom interfacing app
* City app for rapid bureaucracy
* Half a dozen online radio/music players
WP is worthless for me. And social... well I keep in touch with the people that count in my life, who for one reason or another are spread throughout the known world.
But hey, you are better than any of us, keep on going that way.

Like I said, everybody has their favorite brand/platform. For the things from your list; LinkedIn, Google Maps, Schedules/timetables that I need to use, I use without a problem. Never had any problems with attachments either.
I tried Android for a while, at the time, the features I use just weren't available. That may have changed now that office runs on Android, and I also read where the home screen can be customized for larger tiles or a more WP look and feel.
Are you using a Chromebook for work / home?
I'm not better than anybody. Different people have different needs and like different things. What does it hurt to have a 3rd OS out there and available to users?

Nothing at all - it was the tone you used when I named socials that was very irritating. It may seem strange but not all of those who use social apps use them to follow celebrities - besides, some "celebrities" like John Romero and John Carmack are definitely worth following.

Galaxy S7 as mobile platform and standard PC for work (will be swithcing to a laptop next week due to career change).

LinkedIn didn't allow me to edit my profile nor answer to direct messages, Gmail didn't sync, Google maps wasn't even available and Here Maps misjudged my position of 20 km. All the other apps aren't available and IE could manage only very simple webpages.
I never found a phone cover, by the way.

I still use a Nokia 950XL, but then all I need from apps is a web browser and office suite...
As long as Nadella runs MS it won't happen, so forget about it.

The "browser" was good... the first year. Then it started failing miserably to render any complex webpage. And there are no other proper browsers for that platform.
Add to that the complete lack of apps and it's basically a disconnected phone.

That's not my experience; the edge browser is just fine for mobile browsing.
Plus maps work and have never directed me into the middle of a lake. And if nothing else: it's a functional phone.

Probably you have W10? I had W8 (not 8.1).
You spoke about a lake... fun fact: according to the phone I was drowning in the Thames, but luckily someone was saving me and pulling me landside. I was right in the middle of Greenwich park...

Yeah, I've been running W10 since it became available on mobile.
I was specifically talking about an old Apple Maps issue with the lake

I'm still using a Nokia Lumia 735, my second WP. The sales guy tried his best to persuade me to get something else a couple of years ago. It was the last one they had and the price was 1/5 what they wanted for others. The only problem I've had was that my bank app for mobile deposits was dropped...now I use an older android tablet for that.
