If ten people in france want to transfer money to the UK, and ten people in the UK want to transfer money to France then TransferWise keep the money in the respective countries and transfer it to the required accounts.
Interesting idea but what happens if the funds in one direction are 10 times that of the other? Does it do a hold or does the exchange rate kick in?

Do you really think transfer wise has only 20 users?
On average the money flow around somewhere like Europe, where it was set up, equals out.
If you wanted to move large amounts of Rand to Sterling, you might be on a one way traffic flow and get just a good commercial rate.
In any case it beats anything your bank can offer.

I suspect that it does not in some cases. Certainly in the US more goes, via money transfer, one way to mexico.

Which is what I explicitly suggested.

I suspect that not only depends on the exchange rate but also the amount and fees.

If you need to ask the question, then the answer is probably: "no". Use a registered bank or financial institution that you know is licensed and regulated in your country.

When transfering money the main issue is to trust the receiver of the money. There is a lot of scamming in the world, which are telling sad stories or beautiful ladies who want to visit you.
You also can send money with Paypal. It is more secure and established.

I have used moneytransfer a lot, they are reliable and give a MUCH cheaper rate than a bank for foreign transfers.

I'd say avoid them. Use Xoom.com (owned by Paypal).

They say they are authorized by FCA[^]
If it works like RBI in India, then might be safe.

I have been using the Android app called "Here We Go" for months now and it has been fantastic.
This is their URL where they tell more about it...
http://wego.here.com
Earlier this week he just stopped working. As of this moment I don't have the first clue of what's going on.
Is anyone else seeing the same thing? Is it time to remove this app from my Android, and reinstall it?
Does anybody know what's going on ?
I can't make much sense of what I see on their website

That would be a pain - I really liked that, and it's mapping data was loads better than OSM. If nothing else it had much better coverage of speed limits.
The app itself was a bit fiddly to get used to, but once you got your head round, it worked really well. I haven't used it for a while, simply because I have GPS in the car and didn't need the tablet to navigate.
But ... I just gave it a try on the Nexus 7, and it seems to be working fine.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Works well here... try to reinstall it.
I've started using waze as it tells you about speed cameras and important events in the road, but here works wonderfully well even offline.

Had you not mentioned Android, I'd have absolutely no clue as to what you're talking about.
You can't assume everybody knows about every semi-obscure app out there, or that anyone even knows you're talking about a app on your phone. A little context helps. It took me about 5 seconds to locate it on the Google Play Store. That way you might get a little more constructive feedback, as I'm sure others will simply move on to the next topic.

Much better.
Of course by now the message is a few hours old, and a lot of people won't scroll back that far and you're not likely to get much of a follow-up, despite the clarification. Oh well.

Hey! Welcome back! btw, really nice track. I've not heard of either artist before. Just by listening, I would have sworn it was Gary Moore on guitar.
Maybe it's a coincidence, but I've 'still got the blues' from losing my father, Gary Moore, (obviously not the same one) less than two months ago. (cancer)

Same here. I don't remember how I found him, coincidence. Yep, Something Gary Moore and Joe Satriani.
Sad to read about the death of your father, so sorry
