Just found this gem in a question about a Socket Exeption:
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (serverStarted)
{
updateUI("server is already started silly sausage");
return;
}
if (radioButton1.Checked)
{
startScan();
}
else
{
connectAsServer();
}
}
If it's not broken, fix it until it is

I think it shows poor form to bring the QA into the Lounge, for any reason, really.

The clue was:
Queue to the left, but pee to the right! (8)
And the answer: KEYBOARD
Guess that means I'm up again tomorrow...

And AZERTYUIOP in France as well.
But most keyboards are QWERTY - it's the most popular in the world despite there being "better" alternatives such as Dvorak.
And I liked it!

I guess we better delete that of our minds
Sure most are QWERTY, most ppl use en Keyboard, but Dvorak, have to give it a try.

Trouble is I've got 30 years plus of reflexes invested in QWERTY - so retraining is a PITA. I tried it once, and decided it was probably better - but it would take me a year or so to get as quick as I am on QWERTY (let alone faster) so it wasn't worth the effort.
And then there's the fun of being used to Dvorak and picking up your tablet, phone, or a colleagues PC which is QWERTY again...

Oh yeah i see
Sure it would be fun letting them work on your pc then ! Just turn it around next time.
I mean switching between QWERTZ and QWERTY ain't that hard but i sometimes miss stuff on the EN Keyboard. And yeah being super fast and then switching to something else would also put me into coding troubles 8)

That's the reason I learnt to play guitar right handed ( I'm left handed ) my teacher said wherever you go and there's a guitar available you can bet on it being a right handed one and it's so difficult when you first learn an instrument - playing it with the wrong hand doesn't make much difference which is correct but it still felt weird.

I spent more time than I care to admit trying to get "quandary" to fit.
I got as far as :-
Qu (Queue, two the left)
and (but)
a r (the right)
y (erm.. pissy?)

|
|

And all you had to do was look down a little!

I didn't looked at my keyboard for ages...The whereabouts of the keys is not a knowledge but a reflex...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

I used same algorithm for c# and c++. I have read c++ is faster than c# but my tests shows c# is faster than c++.
What's wrong? My codes like this.
c++ is 36 seconds
#include<iostream>
#include<time.h>
using namespace std;
int main(){
const clock_t beginTime = clock();
for (int i = 2; i < 2000000; i++)
{
bool isPrime = true;
for (int j = 2; j*j <= i; j++)
{
if (i%j == 0){
isPrime = false;
break;
}
}
if (isPrime)
cout << i << endl;
}
cout << float(clock() - beginTime) / CLOCKS_PER_SEC;
}
c# is 9 seconds
using System;
namespace Console01
{
class Program
{
static void Main(string[] args)
{
DateTime beginTime = DateTime.Now;
for (int i = 2; i <= 2000000; i++)
{
bool isPrime = true;
for (int j = 2; j * j < i; j++)
{
if (i % j == 0)
{
isPrime = false;
break;
}
}
if (isPrime)
Console.WriteLine(i);
}
TimeSpan ts = DateTime.Now - beginTime;
Console.WriteLine(ts.Seconds);
}
}
}

Have you read the Lounge's guidelines which says "No programming questions in the Lounge"?
You have to use appropriate forum for your questions; Quick Ansers section would be appropriate in this case.
You always obtain more by being rather polite and armed than polite only.

Personally, I see this more as a technical discussion than a programming question and therefore valid for the Lounge. But I can see why you made the comment.
Way more interesting than what is usually in the Lounge.
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

|

Shall we cut that in half and say it's a programming discussion, or a technical question, then?
I'm not sure that fits here, anyway.

You sound like a liberal.
On and you're wrong. It's simply a technical discussion.

So liberals are not permitted here. I'm not a liberal, but I'm sure that sooner or later I'll say something that is not extreme right wing enough to satisfy you.

Told you up front I'm not a liberal. My point is if you want to do a political discussion, code project is not the place for it.
