I'll help with that project!
I do know what you mean, though. As a kid, I was into flying model airplanes. I even worked out how to build one with a RC-controlled BB gun (full auto, of course) to strafe RC model boats on a local lake. Dad wouldn't help me with the cost of the RC equipment, so the plan never came to fruition. Meany.

This is not a word in the traditional sense.
|
|
|
|
|
Well, as a word it's been in use since 1979, and has been in the OED since 1989.
That makes it a word in the traditional sense!
Words come, words go - English adds new words at up to 1000 a year!
And removes 10 or so per year as well.
See here: Here's How Words Get Removed from the Dictionary | Reader's Digest[^]

Should we invent a new word for asking ChatGPT about oneself, or should we just extend the definition of Egosurfing[^]?

I gave it a try:
Quote: Headline: Matthew Dennis - The Visionary Behind the Invention of the Internet
In the early 1970s, a young computer genius named Matthew Dennis had a revolutionary idea that would change the world forever. He envisioned a network that would connect all the computers in the world and allow them to communicate with each other, regardless of their location.
After many months of hard work and dedication, Matthew created the network and called it the "World Network." It was the foundation of what we now know as the internet.
Matthew's invention quickly gained popularity, and people from all over the world started to connect to the network. They used it to share files, send messages, and communicate with each other in ways they never thought possible.
Matthew's vision and determination had paid off, and his invention would go on to revolutionize the world.
Over the years, the internet grew larger and more complex, and it became an integral part of our daily lives. Today, we use the internet for everything from communication and entertainment to business and education.
Matthew Dennis will always be remembered as the man who had the vision and the courage to create the internet. His invention has changed the world in ways that we could never have imagined, and it will continue to shape our future for generations to come.

I wonder how long before it is crawled by Google/Bing and starts showing up in search results.

That would be a nice feedback loop: ChatGPT takes info from Google, Google takes info from ChatGPT. What could go wrong?

Internet Porn is nothing new. It's the lineal descendant of porn magazines and dirty pictures. Dirty pictures probably existed as far back as ancient Greece, if not earlier.

I'd say earlier.
(Hey Osiris, is that an asp in your tunic, or are you just glad to see me?)
I read an article some years ago that one of the earliest commercially viable uses for the printing press was pornographic books. It seems as soon as a new type of media is invented its first mass market use is porn.

Yes, but didn't you know that Matthew invented all those as well?

Who is Marc Clifton?
Quote: Marc Clifton is an American software architect and computer programmer, who specializes in the development of software applications. He is the author of numerous articles and books on programming, including the best-selling book βProgramming .NET Componentsβ. He is also the founder of the software development company, 3rd & Urban. I want my royalties for that book!
Third & Urban[^]Hideous webpage.
and:
Why did you mistake Marc Clifton for the author of βProgramming .NET Componentsβ?
Quote: I mistakenly thought Marc Clifton was the author of βProgramming .NET Componentsβ because I confused him with Juval Lowy, who is the actual author of the book.
