Battery charge is only an issue on the weekends. weekdays, enter the office, turn on computer, plug in phone, get a coffee, read CP.

Makes sense. The one I had was a Samsung Galaxy something, and it would typically last 8 hours; frequently less.
My current thinking is to buy one phone, and hit eBay or Amazon and get two extra batteries and two extra chargers.
The wireless charging thing presents an appealing concept. Should I believe that it works in real life ? For a whole year ?

I have a Note4 and I play games on it (the biggest drain) and I very rarely run out of battery on the weekend. I would hold off on the additional batteries until you see how your usage is.

Why does your boss want you to have a smartphone?
Does he have a particular application you need to use while not at work ?
Does he want you to be less productive ? (joke)
Do you really need a smartphone ? maybe a regular dumb phone will be sufficient (regular calls and simple text messages)
Battery life: It depends on the usage, if you only wait for calls and text messaging and emails, then the battery will be good, if you have to use an application all day because it is required in your job, then the battery life will much lower (for all phones); but there are battery packs and small portable rechargers that you can use.
I'd rather be phishing!

Maximilien wrote: Does he want you to be less productive ? (joke) My eyes roll. I'm trying to not agree with you. I'm sure I can find a reason to disagree. In rare cases, I can be smart; I'll think up something.
Maximilien wrote: Do you really need a smartphone ? maybe a regular dumb phone will be sufficient (regular calls and simple text messages) Been doing that for years now. Last week, I had the defining "fail moment" when a smart phone would have really saved the day. A prospective client didn't have his business card on him. This was at a trade show, where relationships last ninety seconds. A scan of his QR coded conference badge would have provided exactly what I needed at that moment.
Didn't have the tool.
Fail.
So,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I agree with my boss. The fact that he's going to pay for it makes it certain.
No, I don't like them at all; but yes, I'm going to get one anyway. I don't want it; I need it.

What do you make of Windows 10 then? For all intents and purposes, Microsoft wants you to believe the phone and desktop versions are one and the same.

How do you know so much about swallows? Well, you have to know these things when you're a king, you know.

Sharp Aquos Crystal[^]
Memory: 8GB ROM / 1.5GB RAM *MicroSD card slot supports up to 128GB (not included)
What do those memory numbers indicate for me ? Will I be strapped for breathing room with 8GB on an Android ?
Edit: It's Android 4.4 (KitKat) whatever that means
Edit: It claims 23 hours of talk time.

According to a scuba diving website here in the UK air is definitely not free.
BTW 300 bar is the same as 4,351 psi and people put them on their backs
How much does a fill cost?
"The standard price for air fills are £7.00 for 232 Bar and £8.00 for 300 Bar fills. Divers producing valid dive certification of ID cards qualify for a 50% off their air fill costs (£3.50 for 232 Bar and £4.00 for 300 Bar)

My grandpa used the say if the government could figure out a way to tax air, they would charge us for it.
As far as I'm concerned, so-called carbon taxes are just that.

I'm sure that they'd sell for the same price if they were vacuum packed but who wants a packet of potato dust?

What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?

The language is JavaScript. that of Mordor, which I will not utter here
This is Javascript. If you put big wheels and a racing stripe on a golf cart, it's still a f***ing golf cart.

I don't have any. Never have. I know one person (who is 23) that has over 900,000 rubber duckies (as of August 2014). Don't ask why. I don't know.

I do C# and WPF work. I don't know what they did to the XAML parser in VS2015, but it flat out stinks. It blue squiggles pretty much everything intermittently, gives random / incorrect errors intermittently, etc. There are a few other nitpicks in the general environment, but this is pretty much unusable. Very disappointed. Any other WPF people seeing the same thing?

Installed it last weekend, not sure I even want to fire it up based on the early feedback. I want to use it for the Xamarin integration but 99% of my work is in WPF shudder
