It was a TV series, supposed to be the US answer to James Bond.
Mission: Impossible was way better -- until it got hit by a cruise miscast.

The movie you are referring to is Safari. It is about a rogue elephant that ... well you will have to see it to find out.

Loads of stuff went wrong, but the one which annoys me most is the new NAS.
I'm transferring data onto the new NAS, and since I have loads of spare space at the moment, I'm also transferring some of the archive material from USB drives.
And the new NAS has a backup facility where it will copy all files from a USB drive to the main NAS. So...A Seagate 4TB USB (not full, but about half) to a Seagate 16TB NAS should be pretty simple.
And off it goes...and goes...and goes...and fails.
Why it failed I'm still not sure - the log records I have found are pretty poor, but there may be more better hidden - but what really annoys me is that the files copied aren't the exactly the same.
Same size. Same dates. Different names.
Spent all morning writing and testing code to fix this, but basically the "backup" software in the NAS doesn't like Unicode - so if a file name contains diacritics, they are replaced with "_". This doesn't happen with Windows file copy, or FTP jobs - just the backup. About 1000 files involved, out of a total of 5771...
What kind of moron writes backup code that changes the damn file name when the rest of the code works fine?
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Why are you holding back the name of the NAS?
It would be helpful to others in the same situation.

It's a Seagate Business Storage 4-Bay NAS 16TB. (End of life with Seagate, so eBuyer have them at £350 which is cheaper than buying the four HDDs alone)
And other than that "little problem" it's pretty good so far. The email events work (which they never did in my previous one), and it's nice an quiet - which is a lot more than I can say for the NetGear ReadyNAS NV series!
The browser based interface is crisp and clear, and despite a few teething troubles I think it's going to be ok. 3 year warranty as well!

1.6TB of pr0n would be an impressive total - but who would archive it in the first place?

If it isn't pr0n then what the heck is it that needs 1.6TB of space in the first place.
