The first problem with this sort of statement is that developers are scientists in the true sense of the word(evidence based, repeatability and peer review of our work is common) and we are just going to pick the crap out of statements like that.
The second problem is that much of the time our bosses are not scientists and will swallow that sort of statement hook line and sinker.

Meteor is actually pretty popular, but only came to Windows pretty recently.
Generally, I like Manning books. I prefer Manning over Apress or O'Reilly 
I do agree that's an impossibly bad sales pitch though

Giving thanks for a successful harvest was a tradition imported from Europe. It is celebrated when the harvest happens; in Canada, that is October, in the U.S., November.
From Canada, live in the U.S. - celebrate both! Next Saturday, will be with 50 or so people for 'Canadian Thanksgiving', in November, will be in West Virginia providing and serving Thanksgiving dinner.

Since yesterday, when I try to update Windows Defender definitions, I get a "Connection failed" error. Has anybody else experienced the same?
Note: I can manually download the definitions file and install it by hand, but I cannot do it from within Defender.

No, same problem. This started to occur after I upgraded to Windows 10 on Saturday.  By the way, on Win 10 there is no update icon in the Control Panel. You get a "Settings" icon where you check for all possible updates.
