I just saw this "feature" show up on stackoverflow (snapshot[^]).j

I'm running the Brave browser (chrome-based) and this is a useless feature that is implemented on the server side (in the web page.
Have You Ever Seen This?
Have you ever seen this "feature"? It is very odd.
i'm probably going to switch from Brave soon, because it is so annoying and the only browser I've seen it appear in so far.

Yes the feature is very odd and the screenshot is help.
See the top of the web page in the snapshot where it has a rectangle overlaid on the page and says, "Skip to main content"?? That is the odd feature that only shows up in Brave.
I've just switched to MS Edge on my linux box.

Also, I see why the original snapshot was annoying. It included the imgur crap around it.

That didn't help. Now its just the standard "The image does not exist" message. Maybe you need to modify the URL in your original message? Or maybe it's not available outside the US, but I think that would be a different message from imgur.

Thanks for your help. Yeah, I can't figure out why the image keeps showing up differently.
I guess imgur isn't a good way to share images after all.

'Skip to main conent' will show in Chrome to for most sites if you hit <tab> (and regardless of the existent a proper anchor)...
It seems that Brave adds a bar without the need for a tab... Have you checked configurability of that bar? Does it appear always or only if there is a proper anchor?
(Edge on Linux is an interesting combination - I use Firefox on my Fedora)

Thanks for explaining when it appears. I still havenβt discovered why it seems to appear in Brave so much & yet Iβve never seen this feature appear in any other browser - I also run Firefox quite extensively.
Now that Iβve switched to ms edge I canβt believe how good it is so far and I see that memory utilization under Ubuntu is lower too
Iβm also now running edge on my iPad and later I will install it on my Mac Pro laptop

I've done some poking round.
AFAICT it's just some simple HTML and CSS, and browser agnostic.
Basically the first thing in the tab order, an HTML anchor linking to the start of main content.
Usually hidden offscreen until focused.
So, open the page, hit TAB and there it is. Hit enter and go.
It's meant as an accessibility thing for screen readers or folks with motor challenges.

Just not sure why it started seeing it see often in Brave all of a sudden.
Iβve never seen it appear in any other browser
I switched to ms edge on all my devices now bec that feature just so annoying and edge doesnβt show it
