There you go again. Bringing logic into it. These are people who never let fact get in the way of a good rant, despite the fact that they're supposed to actually know something about computers. On the whole it's best to just stand well back and let them fizz out. Don't go poking the wasp's nest by saying stuff like you've just had your umpteenth successful automatic update without the slightest hitch. I did once, but I think I got away with it!
Samsung seems to have issues with embedded software of their devices. In recent months there were countless complaints on the Amazon website that "upgrading" the embedded code of Samsung SSDs, completely ruined the devices. The bad part is that the SSDs out of the box worked fine, until they were upgraded.
I felt the same way when I got my $50 Samsung Galaxy Core Prime (quadcore) running Android 4.4.
Just got it in December and I am still very happy with it.
Inexpensive, large screen, beautiful display and very responsive.

One thing I love is being at some eatery or store and a song is playing and I wonder what it is. I just say, "Ok Google, what is this song?" It tells me.
My wife has had a couple of Samsungs (Stratosphere and S4 Mini?) and liked them, but the screens seemed to degrade after just a year or two. Still, I'm suggesting she try the S7 Edge. She's due. She's mostly unsure about having such a large phone.
Unlocked or through a provider? In the US, this thing will set you back $780 USD. True, it's buy one, get one free, but really - that's pretty pricey. But I'm a cheap guy, I use a phone for the phone. I get maybe 10 calls / month on my cell. Most are robo calls.
I did look into trading in my phone. My S2 will get me a credit of $3.

Something that is bugging me about Windows 10 is that in File Explorer I can't seem to get rid of the pane on the right. Under the menu View, there is the option to select *either* of them, but it seems that there is no way to select *neither* of them. I like to use the Details view in the center pane along with the Navigation pane on the left, and generally like to have as much real estate as possible for the Details view, so that I can have lots of attributes displayed. Now, sometimes I do want to have that right pane, so I want a way to easily change it back & forth as I please.
Because I know we have some foodies here, and we're all technology nerds to a greater or lesser extent.
And I've just bought (a couple of weeks ago) a couple of cheap ceramic knives - $7 for a 4" (10cm), $12 for a 6" (16cm) and I'm seriously impressed.
I got 'em because Herself has sharpened all my Sabatier knives at the wrong angle, and blunted the lot - so it's going to take me a week with a whetstone to get 'em back, and they'll probably never hold an edge as well again. And I figured that if she plays with the short ceramic, she'll leave mine alone in future...
But the 6" ceramic is gorgeous! It glides through meat and veg so nicely that I may get more. And so far it hasn't needed any edge touch up. I know it will - but you can buy electric diamond sharpening wheels - and I know you have to use wood or plastic cutting boards, but so far it's held it's edge very nicely.
Anyone else tried 'em? Any comments you'd care to share?
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...
