I'm looking for a movie and I can't find it, perhaps someone here knows it:
It's about a 14-16 year old kid that travels through time and in each period he learns something about the car of that period. I think (not sure) after each period he goes back to an eerie place where he talks to someone (or to a computer).
If you know the title let me know.
PS: See it as a MQOTD where the Q stands for Question instead of Quote and I need a serious answer at some point.
Sounds like you're mixing up Back to the Future and Night Rider to me (David Hasselhoff must be the eerie thing you're thinking of!)

I'm married to a German so I do have some insight, and as far as I understand he's mostly seen as a joke, with a cult following.
In contrary to popular belief, Germans do have humour. It's just different. Quite different actually.
