I was awakened at 7:15 this morning by my office phone. (gotta love those east coast clients!) That support call lasted until around 8:20.
At 8:21 the wife (travelling) called for the morning chat...lasted 15 minutes or so until interrupted by my business partner (also travelling) just wanting to see what I was doing.
It was 9:00 before I had my first cup of coffee!
OK, get around to checking email to find a customer needing me to resend a sample export for another vendor. The first sample had an additional column that the other vendor didn't need. (ok, let me remove that column for you, because it's obviously beyond your technical abilities, just like it's apparently beyond the abilities of the other software vendor to simply ignore the in-needed column! ...and here you go! Oh boy, a reply back already...'the leading zeroes are missing'??? No they aren't...I just opened the file in notepad and it's fine! Did you open the csv in Excel? (which strips leading zeroes even though the items are double-quoted!) Not my problem! The solution: Don't open the file in Excel! IMHO, the software receiving the import should be able to handle the missing leading zeroes anyway, except that the client has really screwed up their numbering...eg. '248' and '00248' refer to different entities! ..and another reply with several dozen 'unmatched' entities...did I mention this was a sample file? (so, remove the unmatched from the sample file and we should have 100% success and they will leave me alone for awhile!
In the meantime, the wife has called again (while driving/bored) so here it is almost noon and I haven't written a single line of code.
Last week I've been listening to The Gathering, a pretty (internationally) famous Dutch rock band.
You may know them from their former singer, Anneke van Giersbergen, who is also known for her solo projects Agua de Annique and VUUR (Dutch for Fire) or one of her many collaborations with other artists.
I've known them for a long time, listen to them once in a while, always enjoy it, but never really got into it like I got with other bands.
Except for a few songs, of which My Electricity is one.
My Electricity is an older and not-so-rocking song, but beautiful.
So enjoy, and do yourself a favor and listen to some other songs as well
They're probably the best known (and still existing) international Dutch rock band, but the only Dutch rock band who scored a #1 hit in America was Shocking Blue - Venus[^].
And then there's Focus[^] with guitar player Jan Akkerman who had the title of best guitar player in the world some 40 years ago.
And surely you've heard of George Baker - Little Green Bag[^] from Tarantino's Reservoir Dog's, also Dutch
I don't know any current international famous bands though...
But I'm sure there are a few
Title said sound of the week, but you all talk about music/song
You're saying music/song isn't sound?
This once started out as Song of the Week, but then I posted music which wasn't technically a song and people like you started complaining...
So now it's called Sound of the Week, and yeah, that sound just so happens to be a song or piece of music every week
Peggle was a fun little time waster back in the day. Only thing that stops me is that I'd have to reinstall Origin, which is like Steam but involves EA.
If you are after something more in depth and like the Syndicate Wars games from back in the late 90's, check out Satellite Reign[^] which Humble Bundle has free for another 24 hours (or until they run out of keys).
Not associated with the site but it is a good thing, so if you didn't know about it and buy a lot of games, check Humble first! A lot of content is available there and part of your purchase is donated to charity. Plus the monthly bundles which get you a LOT of content for not much money and vary from regular and mobile games to applications, books, and comics.
*And use smile.amazon.com instead of regular Amazon!
Last one I have tried is Reactive Drop, not played much yet, but I found interesting
If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
Due to an issue this am, mostly not getting out of bed and a late train I have to stay late(ish) tonight Friday should be POETS day...
(I also completed the anti-bribary training today, the main lesson was Cash, Low values notes, non-sequential)
