1. The lounge is for the CodeProject community to discuss things of interest to the community, and as a place for the whole community to participate. It is, first and foremost, a respectful meeting and discussion area for those wishing to discuss the life of a Software developer.
The #1 rule is: Be respectful of others, of the site, and of the community as a whole.
2. Technical discussions are welcome, but if you need specific programming question answered please use Quick Answers[^], or to discussion your programming problem in depth use the programming forums[^]. We encourage technical discussion, but this is a general discussion forum, not a programming Q&A forum. Posts will be moved or deleted if they fit better elsewhere.
3. No sys-admin, networking, "how do I setup XYZ" questions. For those use the SysAdmin[^] or Hardware and Devices[^] forums.
4. No politics (including enviro-politics[^]), no sex, no religion. This is a community for software development. There are plenty of other sites that are far more appropriate for these discussions.
5. Nothing Not Safe For Work, nothing you would not want your wife/husband, your girlfriend/boyfriend, your mother or your kid sister seeing on your screen.
6. Any personal attacks, any spam, any advertising, any trolling, or any abuse of the rules will result in your account being removed.
7. Not everyone's first language is English. Be understanding.
Please respect the community and respect each other. We are of many cultures so remember that. Don't assume others understand you are joking, don't belittle anyone for taking offense or being thin skinned.
We are a community for software developers. Leave the egos at the door.
cheers,
Chris Maunder

When will the "politically correct" crew get it renamed to Theylium?

It's hard to Tellurium. I've heard super things about Krypton but I Xenon of the other's posted about this. Furthermore, there was that song, On the Rhodium, which seemed popular, too.

Five or so months ago I started playing around with Java and ended up doing a full project in JavaFX. One of the reasons I was interested in Java, is the fact that you can create runables for your project in several platforms, including Windows, Linux, Mac iOS, etc.
My only problem: My projects ran fine in the IntelliJ IDE, but I never created a runnable jar, or exe for that matter. So a week ago I decided it is time to get the project to run as a stand-alone executable. Hoo boy! Was in for a surprise! I battled for days. I could create runnable jars for simple Java projects, but the moment I tried with JavaFX fxml windows, it felt like everything came crashing down. I battled for days.
Then in one of my multitude of on-line searches, I came across the Jetbrains IntelliJ help desk. I posted my problem and in a matter of hours a very kind person pointed me to this website:
GitHub - dlemmermann/JPackageScriptFX: A tutorial project featuring a build script (Mac, Windows) for JavaFX applications based on the new jpackage tool.[^]
This is a sample 3-module project with the necessary build scripts for different OS's to create runables (and a MSI installer for Windows). The process is not trivial and I must confess I would never have figured it out on my own. The more I get to know Jetbrains, the more impressed I get.
I can now create MSI installers to install my JavaFX projects on a Windows machine. And if the need ever arises, installers / runables for Linux and iOS. All thanks to Jetbrains!
Get me coffee and no one gets hurt!

Adam F featuring Dave & Pos From De La Soul & DV Alias Khryst - Time 4 Da True[^]
A day late, but better late than never (thanks to @David-ONeil for pointing out I've been neglecting my duties ).
The Kaos: Anti-Acoustic Warfare album by Adam F was probably the let down of the 00's for me.
Adam F was a drum n bass producer and when I came across this album I was excited and bought it right away.
But when I came home it wasn't drum n bass that pumped from my speakers, but hip hop!
Turned out Adam F went from drum n bass to hip hop starting this album...
Now, many years later, I'm re-digitalizing my music collection to a higher quality and I came across this album.
With the right expectations I decided to give it another listen and hell yeah, it's hip hop
Especially this track stood out for me, probably because of De La Soul's flow.
From let down of the decade to SOTW!

Since Sander didn't add music for this week, here's a chill bit for your potential enjoyment: Ash Ra Tempel.
@sanderrossel - Finally came across your work in my google work! Been learning C# database stuff for a fun little project! So your writings helped another lost soul!

Nice... thank you

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

SOTW posted!
I've seen the name Ash Ra Temple before.
For some reason I was expecting 70's psychedelic rock.
On Spotify I see some familiar names in the similar artists list.
The first name that popped into my head when hearing it was Era and a bit later also Enigma.
I could chill to this, but I just got out of bed and I need something heavier to wake me up

Should the sequel to "La-la Land" be "Po-Land"?

"Tellitubies" ? Surely that must violate very rule about posting in the lounge, or any other forum on CP, and also rules yet to be determined.

Francis Bacon. 1561.
Slightly before my time.
If you can keep your head while those about you are losing theirs, perhaps you don't understand the situation.

That was a let down. I was wondering if you were actually old enough to remember its invention, or foolish enough to believe that you had.
