Local drivers are fairly courteous and driving in Sardinia is reasonably stress-free. Traffic is only really a concern in the main towns (Cagliari, Sassari and Olbia) and in high summer. The main hazards you're likely to face are flocks of sheep.

As an Italian driver, the first. But to us, driving fast is the norm (hey, we ruled F1, MotoGP and Rally and many sports car and cycles manifacturers are Italian. Guess why?) and the real concerns are the big cities, where there's too much traffic and the chance of encountering people who should get a license to move on their feet are much higher.
