The Lounge is rated Safe For Work. If you're about to post something inappropriate for a shared office environment, then don't post it. No ads, no abuse, and no programming questions. Trolling, (political, climate, religious or whatever) will result in your account being removed.
Anything that is unrelated to elephants is irrelephant Anonymous - The problem with quotes on the internet is that you can never tell if they're genuine Winston Churchill, 1944 - Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference. Mark Twain
So to be fair...
1. Any modern operating system is a very complex beast.
2. Making all of the bits and pieces work together correctly is a very large task. Realistically it is simply not possible for some cases due to complexity.
3. Many users of Japanese might in fact want to use english but the reverse is probably much less likely to happen.
4. And Microsoft is out to make money.
Consequently many, many things that individuals might want to do requires that those individuals find specific ways to do it because no OS can meet the goals of every single individual.
You appreciate the field more than the jerk occupying space next to you, it's still classy.
There's some programming puns in there.
Good to hear that you're taking charge of your existence though, often we waste alot of time maturing only to realize we've been wasting time in meaningless trials with idiots. The real pay-off starts and ends with that cat looking back at us in the bathroom mirror. Welcome home.
If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
I just remembered CodeProject and came back around. Looking at my messages, my last was from 2011. Seeing your post made me reply
It's been many years, but I'd like to come back more often. I am not much into programming anymore. I still own my software company but are much more on the management/sales side. But I'll to at least come to The Lounge often.
Great community here that I definitely miss!!
After a quick glance I just saw a couple of old-timers: Marc Clifton and of course Chris.
My name is Wendy and I work for the hiring team at Randstad Direct, a recruiting organization. I should also mention I’m an artificially intelligent Recruiter. Yep— you heard that right!
My colleagues at Randstad Direct and I are working with PNC to help hire for their Solutions Architect, Software Architect position in Secaucus, New Jersey. I came across your resume and thought that you might be a good fit for this role.
My goal is to learn more about you beyond just a resume. Through a simple conversation, I can help you get in front of the hiring managers faster. My aim is to be your advocate, presenting you in the most relevant way possible.
To get started please click the button below to begin chatting with me. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
And this is humorous:
If at any point you require assistance, please email the Wade & Wendy human support team at email@example.com.
So, because I'm male, did I get assigned Wendy? If you're female, do you get Wade?
What really surprised me (well, I was hopeful, it's a fault of mine) was that there was no conversation. It was basically just a bunch of the same questions Monster and Indeed will ask, but in "dialog" form. WTF? That's not AI.
