In decimal numbers (and others like hexadecimal), the most significant digits come first. I prefer the same for dates: yyyy-mm-dd.
Most of my files are named in that fashion, so when I open a folder, I see the content in chronological order.
Since I am stuck in 'murica for the foreseeable future (or at least until my lottery ticket wins something substantial) I don't get Boxing Day (they actually think it is to do with cleaning up the boxes the Xmas presents came in - barbarians!). I save up most of my limited vacation time for the xmas to new year period so I am off from the 21st of December until the 6th of January, yea!

My customers will be off for 2 weeks starting next week. I've already made plans to work a 2nd job (normally my 2 Saturdays a month gig) for at least 8 of those days. OK, the 2nd job is unsupervised and mostly boring so I will actually be coding for my consulting job from another office.
