Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
I'll relay what my doc told me the other day (I went in for a migraine skip-work ticket).
'-Apparently most severe reactions are due to the body's own immune system overreacting to the virus, which is why children [i.e. less developed immune system] are rarely badly affected whereas older (even from 20 y/o) adults can have very severe reactions. Kids can still be carriers though so you must still keep them away from grandma/pa.
again: I'm just relaying what my doc told me - so can't/wont answer questions or even defend it.
[for my opinion I will add] I still wouldn't take it as a reason to expose kids into danger spots, and, even less: purposely compromise/inhibit one's own immune system.
as to chicken broth: dunno, I'm more a starve-it-out (often-throwup) when sick - sip warm water only.
- but if nothing else it's food that ?-might be easier to keep down-? / ?-get past a sore throat-?
