Scientists involved in this area of research (since 1950s) never claimed that AI has been achieved. The literature on AI explicitly mentions that AI does not exist, yet. Unfortunately, companies trying to lure (ignorant?) clients using words such as AI, smart, Machine learning, etc. In reality, nothing of these is happening. Even worse, the general public due to the lack of the specific knowledge, the miss-use and ab-use of the language, believes that the new products (whatever they are i.e. television, telephones, mobile, etc) have indeed "some kind of AI". This fact influences research areas on engineering and people acquire funds for research on AI when the outcome has nothing to do with AI (for example image processing); and creating problems to those scientists that are really trying to do research on AI. People read in news that a new product with AI exists and get excited, which this feeds more the companies to promote this idea as being something that is already happening in order to sell their new product that just happens to have "AI".
Yes, I would agree with you that AI does not exist. Maybe in the far future but definitely not now.
Some of the functionality holes where I have rolled my own.
Thank goodness for the Windows SendTo folder! It helps with lots of these issues. Add in a touch of batch, powershell, or C# Console to manage the simple glue.
Windows Explorer - You think by Windows 10 that Windows Explorer would know how to store a decent plain text format onto the clipboard!
1. copy the full path of the selected file to the clipboard
2. select a bunch of random files and make them into a list (pop up text file or clipboard)
3. create a listing of the entire folder onto the clipboard.
text file processing
1. Eliminate consecutive duplicates
2. Sort and Eliminate duplicates
3. split groups of lines based on a fixed number
There is a good article on CP on clipboard utilities that handle some of these cases.
