1. The lounge is for the CodeProject community to discuss things of interest to the community, and as a place for the whole community to participate. It is, first and foremost, a respectful meeting and discussion area for those wishing to discuss the life of a Software developer.
The #1 rule is: Be respectful of others, of the site, and of the community as a whole.
2. Technical discussions are welcome, but if you need specific programming question answered please use Quick Answers[^], or to discussion your programming problem in depth use the programming forums[^]. We encourage technical discussion, but this is a general discussion forum, not a programming Q&A forum. Posts will be moved or deleted if they fit better elsewhere.
3. No sys-admin, networking, "how do I setup XYZ" questions. For those use the SysAdmin[^] or Hardware and Devices[^] forums.
4. No politics (including enviro-politics[^]), no sex, no religion. This is a community for software development. There are plenty of other sites that are far more appropriate for these discussions.
5. Nothing Not Safe For Work, nothing you would not want your wife/husband, your girlfriend/boyfriend, your mother or your kid sister seeing on your screen.
6. Any personal attacks, any spam, any advertising, any trolling, or any abuse of the rules will result in your account being removed.
7. Not everyone's first language is English. Be understanding.
Please respect the community and respect each other. We are of many cultures so remember that. Don't assume others understand you are joking, don't belittle anyone for taking offense or being thin skinned.
We are a community for software developers. Leave the egos at the door.
cheers,
Chris Maunder

I had the License Plate Reader 1.0 up and working and noticed in the Install Modules, there was a newer release ALPR 2.1. Knowing I shouldn't run both, I (mistakenly) elected to first uninstall the ALPR 1.0 module then attempt to install ALPR 2.1. ALPR 2.1 is failing to download and now I can't re-install ALPR 1.0 as it is missing from the Install Modules section. How do I get ALPR 1.0 back ? I am on CodeProject AI server 2.0.8. I was using LPR with Blue Iris the last serveral days with a camera I purchased specifically for license plate capture.
In the server logs I get the message "Unable to download module 'ALPR2' from https://www.codeproject.com/KB/articles/5348853/ALPR2-2.1.zip. Error: No bytes downloaded"

Maybe use the Bugs and Suggestions forum or the Q&A for better visibility and response. This is not the right place.

Quick Answers is also not the right place to report missing article downloads.

After few "try this and watch for smoke ..."
Setting "to" parameter to zero / "0" makes the Bluez function return correct result in unspecified time.
Setting the "to" parameter to "lower then best guessed" value in mS - the function will return "-1" - a customary error value.
Same as thermos bottle will keep hot contents (coffee?) hot and cold contents (beer ?) cold -
BUT how does it know to keep hot hot and cold cold?

Stop making icons "better" and adding tabs nobody uses to the file manager, and concentrate on getting things organised properly.
It's been eight years since Win 10 came out, and even in the latest, most up-to-date version if Win11 we still have to remember which of two totally different settings programs we need to use to do things.
For example, "Settings" has a "Power" area - but the "power button" on a keyboard action is only available via "Control Panel". Trying to search settings for "Power" won't show control panel items which is the only clue we get that it might be the wrong app - or it might be called the "sleep button" instead. Nope? Ok, maybe the "moon button"? No? Where is control panel ... ? Ah, there it is.
You've fannied about reducing the taskbar usability, but you ignore the bits that actually matter - integration and user focus. Please, pull your finger out soon ...

True, until Microsoft comes up with "their" version and makes the other people go away.
I paid for a useful multi desktop manager, then MS got their finger out of their "nose" lol - and implemented something that did not violate any trademarks but it was enough to put the other company off. I guess if it's opensource, etc....
