Face it, after a while, English is no longer your primary language. Sometimes Decimal is no longer your number base.
So yes, you will make spelling errors and math errors.
Although I can tolerant bad spelling in comments, bad spelling in function and variable names drive me batty.

I don't know if programmers are better or worse, but I think they should be better at spelling and grammar. Programming is all about following rules and structure. Inconsistencies and special cases make computing much more difficult. As a programmer, I hate it when people misspell words, make grammatical mistakes, leave spaces or tabs at the end of a line, more than one newline at the end of a file, etc. It shows a sense of carelessness and lack of attention to detail that doesn't fit a programmer.

Henry, the level of grammar and spelling here in CP is much better than the comments in the local newspaper and Facebook. I guess the general public has a much lower level of intelligence?.

Just wanted to say hi, I'm surfing the interwebs once again after 1.5 weeks! I got chickenpox and had a really hard time here, but I'm ok now, I'm still not allowed to go work but I can log in to CP from home
Alright, now let's see what happened in my absence.....

Lets hope you'll be better in less than nothing...
Good to know you've survived! and of course good to see that one of the first things you've done is to get connected to the CP... would not have enjoyed a lot to know that you would have done other things before...
Because... I guess that at the first moment you've been able to move one finger you've logged in here... is that right?

Had to follow the link to get that, but good idea - provided he removes them afterwards. Don't want smelly keys here either...

Hi CP Friends,
I have enjoyed 'Tom's Hardware's' site, for many years, and, imho, it has made a come-back in the last two years in terms of quality and depth of reviews ... a recovery, imho, from several "poor" years after its sale, and Tom's departure.
But, today, I was perusing their 'Tom's Hard News' e-mail newsletter, and I had turned 'display images' on in IE9, and I was shocked to notice that in the links associated with advertisers' images embedded in the e-mail they had appended my e-mail address in plain text to the end of the 'click-through.'
I find it hard to believe they are that un-subtle about privacy concerns, and I always do take the trouble to read the privacy statement before I subscribe to such e-mail newsletters, and would never have agreed that s3s-bofm.net, whatever that is, should be using my e-mail.
And, when subscribing to any web-site's or blog's e-mail or whatever, I am instantly blown-off by any practice like making you opt-out by default to not allow third-parties to get your e-mail address, instead of opt-in.
Okay, hypothetical: 'Tom's Hardware' answers a query from me saying that they sub-contract out their click-throughs through s3s-bofm.net, and s3s-bofm maintains strict control of all e-mails under TH's account, respecting privacy. Should I still be concerned ?
I shudder to think this is common practice, and, while I have no reason for paranoia because the machine I use to read e-mail is very well-defended, maybe I should be paranoid ?
best, Bill
"Many : not conversant with mathematical studies, imagine that because it [the Analytical Engine] is to give results in numerical notation, its processes must consequently be arithmetical, numerical, rather than algebraical and analytical. This is an error. The engine can arrange and combine numerical quantities as if they were letters or any other general symbols; and it fact it might bring out its results in algebraical notation, were provisions made accordingly."
