That just makes you a victim, and a willing one, at that.

If I recall history, this kind of thinking got your country into quite the mess in 1940.

I'm not so sure. Germany had a Huge army, I don't think we could possibly have matched that.
Waving a white flag might have saved more casualties, because then there wouldn't have been a reason for them to bomb cities.

I think I see your problem... you're just a child.

How does Anne Frank feel about that?

Nope. I'll lay off though, arguing countries policies, and well before both of our times is pointless and if not done in jest, inappropriate to the Lounge. I brought it up in the first place, shame on me.

Wow, even the French showed a little more spine than that before they got their sh*t pushed in.

"Anyone who clings to the historically untrue — and thoroughly immoral — doctrine that 'violence never solves anything' I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and of the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler could referee, and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk, and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and freedoms."

Now if he would've picked the thing up thrown it straight up, swung his M16's butt like a bat and crushed it straight at the Taliban losers exploding all of their innards out of their gut, followed up with a line like, "Headsup for stray bowels." THAT would be impressive to David1987.

I agree. It kinda makes me think of Vietnam. I obviously wasn't alive yet, but you hear about how lots of people protested the soldiers and treated them like crap when they got home just because they didn't agree with the war. That is just ignorant in my opinion, especially when there was a draft in place.(Some of the soldiers may not have agreed with the war either, but they had to go.) I'm glad to see that that sentiment has largely been abandoned, and most people support the troops even if they don't support the war. Unfortunately, not everyone has learned yet.

Especially when, from what I hear, the f***s spitting in the vets' faces were often the bratty offspring of the wealthy or influential.
