It certainly is a change, I suppose it will grow on me and I'm way too old to dress in spandex so I'll persist.
That green highlight is just horrible!

And I don't have the legs to carry a frock, but seems that is what they want.

I'm colour blind, so I don't know what I'm looking at, can I use puce and actually be describing a colour on the screen here?

I disagree. I do not like the new look, although I am sure I will get use to it in time.

MY LIFE IS CRAP
For 6 days last week, I had to stick to a diet that included exactly 100 gm of fat. To keep it simple, I elected to stay with the suggested example every day. On Tuesday, the meals were interesting; by Sunday I had got totally bored. Plus, for the last 3 days of the diet (Fri, Sat, Sun), I had to collect some ... er ... stuff, which totally grossed me out. Still, I was able to drop that into the lab Monday morning and forget about it. Except that by then, my digestive system had gotten used to the diet food and was complaining bitterly about real food!
On top of all that, I've been experiencing a lot of pain walking, due to some of my muscles being over-tight, which caused them to pull my leg bones out of alignment so today I had a cortisone jab in my knee.
And then yesterday, my Android tablet stopped working ...

Well the rest of it isn't too bad, but how do you keep on living without your tablet?

This is not a technical question.I am just looking to see which is the reliable and commonly used brand of portable hard drive.
I believe around the same period last year we had a bit of Taiwanese floods causing a spike in the prices of these gadgets right?

As far as I can tell the prices continue to go down.
I paid $139 for a Seagate 2TB USB 3.0 portable, and a WD My Passport 1TB is $100 - which is cheaper than when I grabbed one 6 months ago.

Yes, I have a passport 1T, too. I use it purely to back up ALL my photos from my cameras. Never let me down yet.

I have a bunch of Fantom external (2TB) drives (which are fairly cheap from Tiger Direct or Amazon) - they do 1TB and 1.5TB as well, I believe. I have had them for a while and they are amazingly still working!

I once read (loosely translated from memory) that, for people up to 15 years of age, everything new is normal and expected.
For the people between 15 and 35, everything new is exciting and embraced.
And for the people above thirtyfive years of age, everything new is a threat to the order and therefore evil and must be defeated.
I'm learning more often than I'm comfortable to admit, that I'm on the wrong side of the border.
But I'll get used soon enough, that process has actually already started.
And I just got the motivation I needed to buy an even bigger monitor.
Rant over.

I don't mind the newness, and a quick Ctrl+roll reduced the text to a reasonable size; it's the brightness that's killing me; windows actually keeps bright white backgrounds exclusively for the vision impaired -- try the "high contrast" theme.
After ten minutes, I'm actually feeling eye strain.
