Have you ever come across a person that pauses for a moment too long when saying something in passing (imagine somebody saying "hi" then staring at you for 5 seconds)? It feels a bit like talking to a close-talker, only it's temporal rather than spatial.
A train station is where the train stops. A bus station is where the bus stops. On my desk, I have a work station....
My programs never have bugs, they just develop random features.
Scissors cuts paper, paper covers rock, rock crushes lizard, lizard poisons Spock, Spock smashes scissors, scissors decapitates lizard, lizard eats paper, paper disproves Spock, Spock vaporizes rock, and as it always has, rock crushes scissors.
I bought a new laptop a month or so agp. Hunted high & low and found a Win 7 HP with 6GM RAM & 500GM HD for about $500.
I bought a Toshiba laptop with Win7 at Office Depot. 4G RAM and 600G hard drive for about $480. Then I got silly and bought a 23-inch flat screen and a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. When at home the laptop sits under the monitor stand. When I'm on the road now the 17-inch monitor always seems tiny for the first couple of days.
Personally, I don't mind the look. I don't like the jarring separation with the desktop though. My main reason for avoiding Windows 8 at this point is the Apple-like direction that Microsoft is taken (e.g. requirement to use the Windows Store).
