Was it working before the updates?
Were there release notes that told you of new features that you actually wanted?
Updating because there is an update is becoming a thing of the past.
Read release notes, and only update if they actually explain what they've done, and if you actually want the new stuff.
E.g everyone nowadays complains about how cr@ppy skype has become, but my installation works as well as it ever did, because I don't update programs that don't provide release notes.
"We're constantly making improvements" != release notes.

All update was applied to solve a problem, and to be honest it solved. But! it introduced an other, sometimes more disturbing one...

Not a mention (so far) of Hyper-V? It's built right into the OS, even on the clients, since 8.1, I believe.

Got a customers old and new laptops. Old Dell may have a dying/dead HDD as got data off and now can't get it to read in another computer.
So moved on to new laptop which I just unboxed. Plugged in, turned on and accepted all Microsoft's Licensing bullshite and network selection and moved on to where in the world I am. Then turn off all settings for privacy and click next. Get the Just a moment... prompt, then the laptop reboots and I'm back to where in world am I.
Doesn't matter if I use Express Settings or Customize Settings it just keeps looping.
Anyone have an idea? Google not helping and brain obviously not working.

I do not know about that financial program your customer uses, but Office runs perfectly on Wine...
(and there are office replacements that IMHO are much better then the Microsoft one)

Have you tried testing the new machine's memory? Bad memory can cause symptoms similar to what you mention.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.
