Just checking that the answer is what I expect. I often have to add items to list of figures and then (if I remember) do a copy down of the equation. So I like to know I have done all the steps necessary to get the right answer.
That's a pity, as some of us here must have known that Excel can do much more compared to pocket calculator in shorter amount of time. Hey, may be you could suggest to that bloke that abacus can sometimes do certain calculations much faster than pocket calculator and abacus doesn't need battery.

Wrong... it is the person using the abacus, who is faster, not the abacus.
If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?

Usually I would agree with you, I often have struggled with supposedly easy ones. Pretty sure I have got it today though...
My tip of the day here would be:
When looking at a clue, have a quick check to see if any word, or pair of words, have the same number of letters as the answer. If so, then consider looking for an anagram. Especially when there is an anagram identifier such as "undid" present.
