Yeah, this is not marketed towards me since I don't really like phones. I've got a gen 1 Moto E which cost me $59 (saw later on sale for $29). It makes phone calls just fine and runs the couple Apps I use with no problems.
If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?

I may be in the minority here, but I just wanted to share that it's awesome working with bright devs and managers who instinctively "get it". I love the culture of my (not so) little company, where the CTO and every dev manager started out in the trenches, writing code for decades before moving up the food chain.

Actually, no. But I've been blessed with a wonderful work environment ever since I started working exclusively at early-stage companies since 2000. Aside from having the privilege of working with folk smarter (a lot smarter) than myself, it's been a rewarding experience to see how an idea is taken from germination to fruition as a software product.

..as for myself, well I mostly work alone which is the way I like it! Lately though, my mostly non-coding colleague has been in my office most of the last two weeks directing me through a new project. I'm having to work overtime to keep up with my normal chores. Not happy about it, but it goes with the territory! It's also temporary as the demo is in about 2 weeks. Yesterday, I shifted from trying to have a fully functioning demo to focusing on how to fake it...just a prototype at this time anyway...plenty of time to wire it up later.
It doesn't surprise me at all that I keep having a recurring nightmare of clients all queued up in front of my desk, getting worked up and huffy when the phone rings and my attention is diverted from their important issue/problem or someone cuts in line saying 'But it's an emergency! I need this report customized yesterday!'.
Yes, I think that's almost always true. Every one of the four times I've switched companies in my 30+ year career, it's been because I'd become the de-facto "guru" in my area. I think that's when one stops learning and becomes complacent.
No. The five of us who are left are now responsible for all the work done by the original 17. We're maintaining products that have been passed from their original developer through three or four people on their way to landing in our laps. This, along with the various cloning attempts and one bizarre episode involving the Canon copier in the office, has rendered all of us unsane.
