don't forget to consider the box around the GPU, make sure it will work on modern hardware - the most popular slot of the day (of course also runs on your current box)
consider even the system, even if you are hard core windows-only now don't write off others [at least linux] so fast, you never know what your base o/s will be a year or two from now - maybe due to app/game choices, work-at-home, even o/s policy changes from ms (and others just as much).
Assuming your budget goes that high I'll second the recommendation for a $230ish (US prices) 1660 super (roughly the same price as a standard 1660 but ~10% faster), or 1660 Ti ($280 but only 10% faster than 1660S).
The high priced 1060's are quasi-scammers massively marking stuff up because it's out of stock hoping to find a sucker who doesn't know any better. For the most part I'd recommend avoiding them at 1660S is ~35% faster than a 1060-6gb; and they generally start at about the same price.
The 1060-3gb is maybe an option if you can find a cheaper one around $180, but with only 3gb of ram is going to limit your ability to actually use the rest of the cards performance; and low ram cards tend to age much more poorly with time.
The 1050 and 1050Ti can both be found around $150, performance on both is about the same but the TI's got 4gb instead of 3; and is the one I'd recommend on a budget.
The 460 was a 150W card, which is more than any of the above so you shouldn't need to worry about if your PSU can run them.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies.

I was going to ask what game needs something significantly better than a GTX 460, which I thought sounded similar to what I have, but after looking it up, it turns out my 960 was out in 2014, whereas the 460 is 4 years older still. Pretty good run, for a video card.
FWIW, the only thing I still play nowadays is GTAV, which is almost constantly smooth as glass even at 4K. Not bad for a 5-year old card, although to be fair, the game predates the card, so by today's standards GTAV can't be all that demanding...
I'm writing some of the most challenging code I've written in months. It's for doing type and member resolution using the CodeDOM. It has to virtualize types from the code dom tree and allow you to crawl their members which is not easy, especially since it has to be able to traverse reflected types as well. Yikes.
That and scope is always a pain. Where am I? What members, variables, arguments, namespace imports etc, are available from here? that kind of thing.
Mostly I've solved it but crawling members is tough. I'm scratching my head a lot.
Still, it's great fun, too. I love that my parser is working so far, and how well the project has gone considering the challenges.
So one milestone down, currently working on the next.
After that, I think it gets easier, as I just have to emulate T4 text processing as the Slang preprocessor.
When I was growin' up, I was the smartest kid I knew. Maybe that was just because I didn't know that many kids. All I know is now I feel the opposite.

Research into standing desks is suggesting they're far from being as great as previously thought. I don't have any problem believing that.
That being said, it's obvious getting up and stretching after a while is a must, so I wouldn't mind having a standing desk...but the amount of stuff in my case that would have to follow to make it practical in either position makes it rather...unworkable (for one thing, I have too many cables that are just too short).
This year, I saw the first "Christmas" products before the end of September. And some "Christmas" food stuff with a "best before" date in October.
I think that there ought to be a law against labeling anything "Christmas"-this-and-that unless it is intended to last at least until Christmas Eve. Any food stuff intended to be consumed during the Advent season should be labeled "Advent"-so-and-so - but if the "best before" date is before Advent Sunday, it should be against the law to use that term, too.
The American Thanksgiving celebration helps keeping the Christmas madness down until the end of November. Here in Norway, we have no Thanksgiving tradition; that could be a partial explanation why we go crazy from the end of September. It is a quite modern phenomenon - twenty years ago, traditionalists where crying out when Christmas beer a Christmas marzipan appeared the last days of October. Now, it seems like we have given up all resistance.
Here we have "Sinterklaas", which is celebrated today btw, but this celebration is spoilt by shops already selling Christmas goods long before the 5th of december. Also in recent years there have been heated discussions about his helper "Black Pete" being too black. What a way to ruin the fun for the children who still believe in this fictional character
I thought Dec. 6th was the great day when you exchange gifts etc. - the St. Nicolas day. Do you celebrate both 5th and 6th, or do you get your gifts on the 5th?
I think it is completely wrong to picture Jesus and his family as anything but fair-skinned and blond, with blue eyes. They were nothing like Semite people of today, like Palestinians. No, they were just like us Caucasians. He is our saviour, he looked like us. And the Holy Virgin was at least 18 years before she met this Gabe fellow out in the fields; she was nothing like her girlfriends who were typically twelve or thirteen when they married. Just look at all the paintings of her with the baby boy on her lap: Does she look like a thirteen year old? No! The pictures prove that she was just like us, and more like twenty years old, maybe even more. There is no reason to believe that Saint Nicholas looked anything different from modern, bearded Western men. Just ask Coca Cola Compay - they know.
It's both 5th and 6th of december, see article here: Sinterklaas - Wikipedia[^]
Btw. all employees of the company I work for already got a chocolate letter this morning, he's really such a nice guy Sinterklaas
It's bound to offend somebody - the idea of "vegan" is offensive to all right thinking BACON worshippers, the idea of "car" is a mantra to some, an anathema to others. The combination is ... um ... unlikely, given the amount of dinosaur byproducts that go into even an electric car (plastics, oils, greases, fabrics, ... all can be oil based). Or do vegans not care about long-dead animals? I dunno ...
I'd assume it irony, not trolling myself, but I'm sure that will offend some!
