It's not like Tim Cook wouldn't have a contingency plan already in place to ensure this doesn't happen.
But if it does, you can be sure Apple will find a way to spin it in such a way they can benefit. Wouldn't be the first time they make artificial scarcity work in their favor.

I'll sell you mine  for the right price. Seriously, the only reason I have a phone is for emergency purposes and the occasional customer call.
Well, let's change that, the reason I have an iPhone is because my teen daughter wanted one, then the wife got involved with getting the family plan under the guidelines of "as long as it does not cost more than the current plan." Yeah, we still had some price creep. Still waiting
So far, the only people who really call me all of the time are spammers. Other than that, I would be happy with a flip phone.

Perfectly legal. If it sounds ridiculous, remember that human ownership of anything at all is just as ridiculous. cats have just as much right to claim ownership of stuff as people do, and they're one of the few species we interact with (without massacering them) that assert their ownership.
But they have the common sense to only assert temporary ownership. As soon as they walk away from something, they relinquish ownership. Humans are much stupider than that.My favourite quote from the article: When the online marketplace noticed her outrageous claims two years later

Looks like too much effort is put into scraping as much money as possible out of the site, and almost no effort is put into customer safety and requirements.
The "microsoft testing method" is not appropriate to an environment where people can do harm.

And yes, it's asinine, but, at least in this case, everyone involved made money out of it (especially the lawyers), secure in the knowledge that it wouldn't make a jot of difference to anything (unless, of course, people started trying to charge for the photons emitted from the square metres of their "property", which would make lawyers even happier).

Some people prefer decaf coffee later in the day, and producing it typically means using solvents, so beans without caffeine would probably reduce costs.

"premium" decaf (an oxymoron, no?) is decaffeinated with either super-critical (i.e., liquefied) CO2 or a water-based process.
Now technically, both are solvents (Imagine that! You willfully ingest that solvent water all the time hidden in all you eat and drink!) - but in either case, the 'fear factor' is gone form those who must have one.
And so far as I know, nothing about either method (let alone halogenated alkanes) is simply and selectively limited to just the caffeine - and hence the ruining of the coffee to various degrees when it is decaffeinated debouched.

I've always wondered about the process (but never bothered to look it up). If they take the caffeine out, what do they do with it? There's gotta be a market for that product. Skip the coffee, go for the pure caffeine...
(I'm not a coffee drinker, but I've had chocolate-covered coffee beans...and until now hadn't thought about it in years...now, excuse me while I run to the store for a completely unrelated errand...)
