Is a waterfall the opposite of a firefly?
( don't blame she, she is 9 years old - this is her thought not mine. I could never come up with this )
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, navigate a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?

Will inquire, she lives in Alaska, so an answer will take a day or so.
The one she had 3 years ago was:
"What did the snail say when he got a ride on the turtle?"
((Whee !!)

The earthmelon and the airmelon were burnt up by the firemelon in a disco inferno.
The watermelon put out the firemelon, but was too late to save the others, so he's the only one left.

If you enjoy collecting great statements from kids:
I didn't write down the exact date; my daughter was somewhere between two and three years old. Usually the fluorescent light in the bathroom is on 24/7, but for some reason, it was turned of, so I had to switch it on when we went in for her evening bath. The light flashed a few times, as fluorescent lights do, and my daughter exclaimed:
"Wow! The light shook on!"
Isn't that a great way of describing how fluorescent light turn on?

My about-to-be sister-in-law, when she was 8, posed the following question once when she was told she wasn't allowed to do something:
"Why not? It's a semi-free country!"

What would you think a proper reaction when my daughter, age something like eight or nine, admitted:
