For what it's worth... I solved your simple hendecad anagram clue. I didn't post the answer because I don't have time to be the daily setter. If you guys remove that requirement I would participate more.
I actually cheated and used a piece of software to generate anagrams and permutations of the head and tail of your clue. Apparently the word 'hendecad' is not in most dictionaries. I had to load an unabridged dictionary to get the answer.
I'm pretty thick-skinned, but thanks. I actually thought it was good too, because it fit in with CP, much like my last one. I'd have gotten stuck on the technical angles too, but I have to stop with this risque stuff before everyone catches on to my shtick. I have another one that would result in a lifetime ban.
If you want to play but don't have time to set the next one, I'm sure you'll get volunteers.
First off, sorry for hijacking your subject, Sander. Although obviously I can't be that sorry as I still did it
So perhaps it is just me but I wonder if anyone else finds the following to be slightly more annoying than it should be...
Why is it that the people of the radio (possibly called "DJs") think it's really clever to talk all the way up until the first lyric of a song?
Now most of the time it's not really a problem and I couldn't care less, but there are some songs that should NOT be ruined with voice-overs! This morning's victim was Money for Nothing - Dire Straits. Arguably the best part of that song is the intro, so just seems pointless playing it on the radio if you are not going to let us listen to it.
Anybody else had a problem with this, and what song was it?
