Hi Cédric,
I wanted to send you an email telling you about the (commercial) app we've used your excellent charting control in. Where should I send it? I can include screenshots, etc.
Regards,
David

- Pshaw! Youngster. Your UID barely fits inside 16 bits. In _my_ day we had to whistle the 1's and 0's through an acoustic coupler!
Tools that support "all of UTF-8 as long as it starts with ASCII" and tools that cannot handle these three [BOM] bytes at all are not really supporting UTF-8.

Hello. I started VC++ programing just about 1 month ago. I don't like it very much, but being a student who wants to work in the domain you work (industrial engineer in electronics) and finding it in your interests i'll give it another try.

Hellooooo Cedric
I'm Joon from Belgium (Antwerp). I've been really breaking my head on the decision that I have to make in a few months. I'm graduating as a professional (as opposed to academic) bachelor in Applied Informatics, and I don't know what to do next. I could go/try for a masters degree at uni, or choose a completely different carreer path.
Just stumbled onto your profile while browsing CP boards. Can I ask you about your education, and occupation? You can email me of course if you want.
Greetz, Joon

Hi Joon,
In fact I have followed a formation of industrial engineer in electronics and I worked for 3 years in a small company that produced medical devices. I worked there as software developper (mainly developping the measurement applications).
Then I moved to my current company which is in leuven and is a research center (FMTC). I work also there as software developper.
That's almost it . And I also spend some time during my spare time to work on some private projects (that helps a lot to learn).

Sounds like an interesting job. Thanks for your reply. One of the reasons I asked, was that I recently had a 'jobbeurs' or 'carreer-expo' and most jobs there were very business-related, and boring imo. ERP, CRM, all those things don't sound like anything I'd want to do. Research on the other hand, and old-school-hardcore-softwaredev. sounds much more like what I would want to do.
Are there any junior-vacancies at your company?
Do you have any idea about the market right now, bachelor/master/... what do the companies want, and what companies do I (not) want to work for?
Sorry for all the questions, but this has really been bugging me lately.

Hi Cedric,
So you live in Belgium. I'm from South Africa, and as far as I know, we would be able to understand each others languages. See in South Africa we speak Afrikaans (which is like a mixture of dutch and Belgium). Well, that is all that I wanted to say..

Indeed, Leuven is a nice city. Oops!!! You're working in Leuven? I missed a chance to meet you. At leuven i was working for ICOS n.v. Do you know that company? May be soon I'll visit Leuven for 3 weeks. At that time, lets have a cup of tea together.
Regards,
Jijo.

Hi, sorry for the late answer but I completely forgot that you replied (ooops...).
Yeah I heard about ICOS before.
And keep me informed when you are coming in Leuven I'll see if I can spare some time (if I'm not in holidays ). You can maybe send me a link directly, it is easier I guess .
