Drop down lists only return a value, which in your case is the country name, so any extra information like the postage zone should be included in the value, and extracted from there.
for example , Suppose that Afghanistan is in the postage region 1 an Albania in region 2
your list will look something like:
Country...
Afghanistan
Afghanistan
then get the selected value and do some string manipulations like SubString to separate the Postage zone value from the country name, if you're using .NET you can use SPLIT("_") and you'll get an array of two items, the first Item includes the zone ID and the second contains the name.

Thanks a lot. This looks like a promising method, though I don't know much about the use of .NET at this stage. I'll try it and see how I manage.
I don't usually mention taglines but yours made me feel sad. I suppose it does have the potential for optimistic interpretations though.

I want to access some documents in a WebDAV folder using my web application.
The word document or xls document to be accessed is in a WebDAV folder. I want to provide option for the user to open, edit and save the documents in the webdav folder through my web application. The document names are displayed in a web page and when user clicks on the document name, the document is opened from the webdav folder in a new browser window - the document is opened using word plugin of IE. Now after user makes some changes when user clicks on 'Save' button word tries to save the document in its temporary folder rather in the Web DAV folder. I do not want the user to use the 'Save As' option of word to save the document in web dav folder. Kindly let me know what extra handling i should make so that the MS Word active x component shall open the document as if it is opening it from Web Dav Folder.
When the document is opened from IE using 'Open as Web Fodler' option, word allows to save the changes in web folder with simply 'Save' option. I want to simulate the same method when user opens the document using my web application.
Please let me know how is this possible.

Hey,
I was browsing some articles on here (Code Project) and i noticed that with an article called Refresh Portion Of Your Web Page Using XMLHTTP the page had at the top of it a link to download the sample source files. The link is an actual link to the file but it would not let me download the file until i had logged in. I wish to replicate this with my company's website. I use ASP and the Session object for the session data. Any suggests for how i could do this?

All you do is have a check for a logged in user at the start of the download page. If they are not logged in redirect to the log in page and when successfully logged in redirect back to the page they came from

Thats fine and i have done that. But the example i was talking about has the actual url to the file protected. so if you try to go to the zip directly and you arent logged in then you get redirected

this may sound stupid....and pointless.....and their are probably other things to be doing other than this.....but I'd like to know for my own personal reasons.....
I'm looking at java/javascript/java applet code for being able to log/extract the REAL IP address of a computer that connects to my website. I wnat to be able to get teh IP address issued to that user by their ISP, and NOT the IP address of the proxy or socks server they are using.
I would also like to be able to extract any internal network IP address that they are using at the same time....does anyone know the code to be able to do this?
I hope someone can help cause this is driving me nuts.....

Hi,
I want to run the calculator.exe file from my c# webapp.I did this by using the hyperlink control and the location of the exe is the navigate url and is working nice.
But it gives the dialog box telling ,'one or more files can harm your computer ...' since it is opening on the IE. if i click the open button the calc.exe is opened.
i want to eliminate /deactivate the asking dialog box and directly open the calculator exe thru c# webapp .
Could u please tell me how can i do that.

there is an static class shell in asp.net . You can use directly by writing shell class and pass the various parameter to it . Shell class provide you the facility to run any command or exe to run on your asp.net code .

How do I set up DIV tags so I can divide up my page into 3 rows - the top and bottom rows being fixed heights and the center row varying according to the height of the main browser window. I have got something like this in FP but it is not 100% satisfactory, eventually the footer gets lost.

Hi,
i have developed a sample webapp in my machine and it is working nice.I copied my project to other machine and pasted it and i created the same virtual directory as i created in the first machine.If i run my project ,it says that
'Unable to run the project .denugger is not attached'.
But i also gone to the attach process and attached the aspt_wp.exe and it has gone to the run mode(play button disabled).
How ever i could not see my web app page & i could not trace.
Could u pls tell me how can i debug my app after been copied from other system.Is there any settings have i to set.

How can I do that?
I can declare an event function in the webservice, but i can't use it in my windows application with the statement Addhandler...

Hi,
I have four functions in javascript. and when I click one button(Add Transaction) that execute first function addTrans(). if I click another button(end email) that call sendEmail() function. Basically I want to while executing one function even if you click another button(that execute function) should not work. I tried many options like "switch" but still doesn't work.

I am trying to download a csv file from the internet using
the MSHTML model and can successfully obtain the data to a
HTMLDocument variable using the following.

node / element etc.
I know the objDocument does contain the data as I can

I am really quite lost with all this - I do not really
understand how all this works and have been trying to find
an online resource that explains it in lay terms, however
everything that I have located to date goes way over my
head!

I am trying to write a web page that allows a user to select things from box1 (hospitallist1) which then show up in box2(selHospitals) - this works. Box2 items then need to be passed to the next page - I know I am just being braindead but I have been trying things for 3 hours - I cannot get this to pass the values to the next page. When I move items to the new listbox - does this create the array or do I need to do something else to create the string?. Any help is appreciated - I am new to .asp!

Hi ,
The values from the page automatically delete when page load is executed . You have two options
One , set the page Eventwireup ="false" in the html code . Then the control after pressing the button will not goes to page load .
the second option is take an hidden variable in html and assigned the values of list box when you are assigning the values to another list box . and take the value from hidden variable and insert , between the values because the array of javascript is not supported by not net .
when you need individual vaues use split function in .net .
when you are retrving the values from the hidden variable use id of hidden variable .value

I have a list of links as an usorted list:

Now I would like to have this links in 3 columns; somwthing like this:

I don't want to use tables. My idea was to give the li elements a class name that represents the column:

but now I have the Problem of how to write the css code. I've made all of them inline (with display:inline) and gave the three classes three different positions, but now all elements are on the same line 
Any Ideas how to solve this Problem without a table?
