What you can do is to create a repeated region which loops through the dataset adding the appropriate code.
Go to Insert -> Application Objects - > Repeating region.
You can set the number of repeats for this region. Also, you can set a datasource for it. This means that each time the region repeats it will navigate to the next row in your table.
Will look similar to below
Ie ASP:Repeater runat="server" DataSource='<%# MyDsTable.DefaultView %>
Within this region, place the code that you'd like to see repeated.
<br />
Ie. <tr><td> <%# MyDsTable.FieldValue("Field1", Container) %></td><br />
<td> <%# MyDsTable.FieldValue("Field2", Container) %></td><br />
</tr><br />
This will create a new row for your table for each record in the dataset for however many times you repeat that region.
Make sense?

How do i choose, say I do not want OS1001-1004, i
would like to list the 4th - 8th item in the same table?
basically to choose what to list.. instead of having
it pick first 4 items fr the table.
Where can i get samples or tutorials for this exact
method to use dreamweaver datasets?

Good day to all,
I was hoping someone could help me with this problem, as i have tried all the links on Microsoft.com and I am now in desperate need of a resolution.
Here goes,
Recently we have upgraded our web server from IIS 5.0 to 6.0 and installed our ASP application.
In doing this the application has ceased to work, this is due to the session variables being lost between the logon page and the frameset page.
So far we have discovered:
The sessionID remains live, and stays the same and can written to the screen at any point.
The sessions set in Global.asa are present through-out the redirections and can be written to the screen at any point.
The sessions set on the logon page are lost as soon as the page is re-directed. Meaning the user is logged straight back out.
Any suggestions/ideas/resolutions greatly appreciated.

Howdy,
I have found this also at times with certain applications.
What I have found is that if a redirect is done the variables are lost. When I have changed my url's to anchor exactly where they are destined to go, my variables have remained.
Strange, I know.

Unfortunately that did not help but thanks for the reply.
However, we did resolve the problem.
What we discovered was that the directories in the home directory also have to be added as virtual directories unlike iis 5.0 which must assume this.
As soon as we added the directories inside the root as vds and removed the application it all came together and everything works fine.

The most likely cause of this problem is if the "Maximum number of worker processes" value (on the Performance page on the properties of the AppPool) is set to a value other than 1.

Since ASP session state is stored in-process, each worker process will have its own copy of the session state. Subsequent requests from the same client will not necessarily be routed back to the same worker process, so you will either lose your session state, or see an out-of-date copy.
Variables set in the Session_Init section of Global.asa will be re-initialized if the current process doesn't have a copy of the session, which would explain why these variables are always available.

I am doing an ASP page using javascript not VBscript linked to an access database. I have a table within the database (tblProduct) where i have
the fields ProductName, Price, description etc... Displaying the records on the website is simple, however, it will be like a shopping cart, where every
record is displayed and a checkbox next to it for the user to check if he is interested in the product. The problem is the user can select more than one
product, i.e. check more than one checkbox and a record of what he has selected needs to go into the database for example

I could not find any code (in javascript) to help me assign a value for the checkbox that is linked to the product and i do not know how to call it up, so
i can insert it to the database.
Since the records with the checkboxes will be produced depending on how many products meet the user's search, for example the user searches for products that
are under $200 and it will search the database to select all products that are under $200 and display them on the website, the user will then choose which
products to put in his shopping cart, which he can come back to any time.
I would appreciate if someone points me in the right direction with a link or help on here would be even better.

You can display the data like this:

I've used both at different times and have had some really strange errors while using the {Microsoft Access Driver} in the connection string, as far as what's different I don't know. I've had the best results using the JET connection engine string over the *.mdb.

i don't know of any asp.net forums, but i've used one called phpBB before. it's quite easy to set up, there are some cool skins and mods for it, and although it uses php, i don't recall actually needing to worry about looking at code.
as is the case with all software, there have been some bugs and holes in the past, so make sure you get the latest version...

Is it possible to take the values from two pages(and two forms of course) and combine them on one page? I tried that but the values cannot be there at the same time--- they appeared one by one. I need them appear on the same page at the same time so that I can display the combined value on the same page.

If nothing else works, here is a realy dirty way of doing it: Make a page with three frames, lets say 3 rows. The first row (frame1) spans all available space and the last two take up 1 pixel. In the last two rows (frame2 and frame3), place the pages with the two forms.
Use javascript to find the values of the forms. I believe the dom for this is something like frame2.document.form1.total.value (depending on your form name and input box name). This will allow you to grab those totals and take them into frame1.
Hopefully, you will find a better way to do it, because my way kinda sucks.

I have some javascript code in my page that calls the document.getElementById method. This usually works fine however in IE 6, after I have downloaded a file using the File Download dialog, I get an unspecified error. Whenever I try to access document this error occurs but only when the page is within a frame. I have tried using window.frames["frameMain"].document but that causes an unspecified error as well.
Does anyone have any clues as to what is going on.

The javascript is in a js file but I created a small test with the javascript in the page and it didn't make any difference.
I think it may be due to the fact that the download happens on a postback. In my click event for my button I set the following properties of the response then read the file and BinaryWrite the file to it.
HttpContext.Current.Response.Buffer = true;
HttpContext.Current.Response.Clear();
HttpContext.Current.Response.Charset = "";
HttpContext.Current.Response.ContentType = ContentType;
HttpContext.Current.Response.AddHeader( "content-disposition", "attachment; filename=" + DownloadFileName );
Simply adding an anchor that points to the file doesn't cause the error however the file is created dynamically so thats not really an option.
