I want to write a VS.NET 2003 "Add-in" which can auto insert some controls (such as TextBox, Label, ListBox, etc.) to current .aspx page at design-time (NOT run-time).
Thanks a lot!

Hi All,
I want to investigate if there is a way to convert a Dll File which is not a Com Component to a Static Library File So that it can be packed into the Installation Program. I tried one Tool from Binary Soft called "Dll to Lib" it is a fantastic tool. & free to use ( I hate it when it displays a Message while using that very Lib. File). But i want to know if anybody knows similar tool Open Source or Free.
If it is not then OpenSource Comunity must Develop it.
Thanx.. all

You can use the VC++ compiler's command line tools to do this already. It's a manual process so perhaps if you created a very simple shell around it that's all you would need.
How to create .LIB without Source or OBJ[^]

Ok, that is fine, but if i have no source codes only a dll then how to make its .lib file (This is the main problem which i have mentioned). In this case how a VC++ compiler will help me??

That's why it says "Creating a .LIB from a .DLL WITHOUT SOURCE".

I want to do some processing in a BHO on the submit event. For this, I want to attach my own function using put_onsubmit of the IHTMLFormElement. My problem is as to how do I create a IDispatch interface for this specific requirement (event handler for Submit button on a form). Lastly, I also want to know as to how I can manage multiple event handlers, if there are multiple forms on a page, which would have one or more submit buttons. Basically, I want to attach my event handlers at each of the Submit buttons. Later, I would like to know which one has been called.
If pointers can be given to existing articles which throw light on above would be extremely helpful.
Thanks a lot for taking your time.

I'm looking for information (source code, open source, or something like it) to write an application to capture an record Windows screen in Flash format (.swf), like vnc2swf does.
I believe is .swf format better than AVI, cause: .swf is less memory-expensive than .avi...
If a someone knows something to help this development, please, write me!

It's called a caret in Windows, and it can take almost any shape you want. If you're interested, look up CreateCaret in the MSDN.

You see that little edit box at the top of this page? the one with the word "Search" in front of it?
OK good, now go there and type "trie" in it and then click the "Go" button that is to the left of it.

I don't know if this does exist because I have used XML at a very basic level.
Is there a programming language that has an XML syntax? I will explain with an example (I think you will understand me better)
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<program>
<function name="main" type="void">
<var name="x" type="int">5</var>
<var name="y" type="int" />
<compute var="y" expr="x*x"/>
<echo>result: x * x = </echo>
<echo var="y" />
<echo><br></echo>
</function>
</program>
If doesn't exist, I think it is a good idea to create it, because it can be parsed and verified using XML facilities (DTDs)
Best regards,
Jaime.

There have been several attempts to create XML programming languages (try a search engine). One can also consider XSLT or Ant files as programming language.

It's a good idea if it's not as complicated as XSLT. Parsing and verifying is better done by a compiler though.

pretty verbose way how to say "int i = 5"
It does exist... e.g. o:XML programming language.
try google[^] for more...
XML is meant as a data format. I think it's good thing if it will be this way in future. However feel free to design your own markup programming language.

Well, there's MyXaml[^], which is all about declarative programming. This includes things like workflows, state machines, event management, etc. Look at the MyXaml blog and wiki for examples.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty funny too. BTW, someone posted on my blog that it was a patent application, not an award. Any info on that?

This is the URL for the patent application:
XML serialization and deserialization[^]
It was filed in June 2001 and looks like the application was "published" in May 2005. If you go to "Home" then do a search in issued patents, it doesn't show up. If you do a search in published applications, it does. It also says "United States Patent Application" instead of "United States Patent"
So, looks like that's correct it's not an issued patent it's just a published application for one.

I don't think he is trying to serialize/deserialize anything in the way microsoft does. He's trying to make a declarative programming language.

Hi
It's almost the same as to write to ABBYY and to ask them to completely describe their OCR algorithms they are using in their FineReader.
But, to say seriously, face recognition is still staying an actual research direction in computer vision. And I am not sure, that any company will provide the source of complete solution of it.
But, you have a chance to change the situation
With best regards,
Andrew

I am not talking about that, but their are many open source libraries like OpenCV, etc. And somebody who knows them, should teach others. And if source code can be provided then also I would appreciate a good explanations of the algorithms used generally.
