HRESULT createElement(BSTR eTag, IHTMLElement **newElem);
Is it possible to use any tag name for eTag (for example numbers, 1, 2, 3...) to create element?

Can be IE put in design mode by using: HRESULT IHTMLDocument2::put_designMode(BSTR v);
Thank you.

Hi there, having trouble with a menu in dhtml.
basically the javasript function is simple it displays the menu or closes it depending on mouseover or mouseout. the only thing is that the menu closes before you can get a chance to make a selection from the menu items. (ie its closing the menu when the mouse moves of the top line of the menu.. as opposed to the whole of the menu) any help gratefully received!

hi,
How to capture events in the javascript file that are fired from a dll?
Event source – A dll created as an ATL control object
Event Handler - javascript file.
Instance of object is created in the javascript file using ActiveXObject(ComponentName.ClassName).Through this instance I can access methods written in the dll.
Using Object Tag in HTML file works fine. But don't know how to handle events in the Javascript file.
Pls send in your comments.
Thnx,
Bobina

i am planing to make parser for html...so did anyone have the grammar for html or context free grammar?
|
|
|
|
|
Then, you want to study the DTD for HTML at HTML 4 Document Type Defintion which contains the DTD for HTML 4.01. This provifes a context-free grammar definition in terms of the structure of HTML 4.01 and should suit your needs quite well since most of it is in Backus-Naur form.

Is there a way to force the position of a <table> to the bottom of the page (i.e. to hold the contents of the page footer)? Thanks,

I am currently trying to follow the Que Publishing exam guide to the Microsoft Exam 70-320.
I followed the guide to a t, but when I try to add a web reference to my server side soap extension it gives me the following error:-
An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'BugTracker.Global'.
Source Error:
Line 1: <%@ Application Codebehind="Global.asax.cs" Inherits="WebService1.Global" %>
Source File: f:\inetpub\wwwroot\70-320\320C05\BugTracker\global.asax Line: 1
I have even tried creating a perfectly fresh web service created by visual studio and still get the same error when I try to use a web reference to it. I have also tried removing "BugTracker.Global" and replacing it with "Global" but to no avail. All my namespaces are correct as well.
Does anyone have any ideas how I may rectify this error as it is driving me mad!
Many thanks
Paul

You can't create a COM component using ASP. You need a compiling programming language.

HI, say for example we have a table with 3 columns in a row.
say the html for one row looks like this
hiIn IE this will automaticly span the column over 3 columns to match the rest of the rows. Now, I guess ideally you would youse the colspan attribute like this...
hiWhat I would like to know is if the first example (without colspan) is valid HTML?

No, it won't.

What will it do?

Any cells that you don't specify are just left out. The space that the cells would have occupied is left empty.

Let me just say that I have already posted a question similiar to what I am about to ask on another forum, but I guess I was to generic about my problem and not descriptive of how little (none actually) Web Programming knowledge I have. So here it goes again:
I have a website that is hosted, like on Geocities or something similiar, but they allow me to upload anything that I want to it. That was the important part. I have no control over the webserver, just the limited space that they provide to me. Now for what I want to do. All I want to do is have a Microsoft Access database uploaded to this webspace and have a page where visitors can signup for tournament that I am organizing. After they hit the "Sumbit button", the information that they entered (ie: Name, Phone #, and Position - it's a baseball tournament) will be saved in the database and then the page with all the other people who have signed up will open, along with their name. It doesn't matter about me accessing the database - all I need is the information in the database and if there is any problems with the database (ex: Someone signing up with a profane name), i'll just download the database, delete the entry, then upload it again.
So to conclude, all I need is to know how to write, then retrieve, information from an Access database using ASP in the most simple way possible using a database and a few (I don't know how many pages it will take to create the desired effect I am looking for) webpages. Don't forget the information I have provided and that I have never web programmed before, only in html using FrontPage.
Thank you very much in advance.
Marcus.

I honestly believe that your best bet would be to post this as a job on rentacoder. You'll probably get it done for $10 or something, and a lot quicker than it will take for someone to teach you web programing.

C'mon now, it cannot be that complicated. I know VB so it should be pretty similar to that. If nobody can help, just point me in the direction of an example that does what I am looking for or pretty similiar to it

You didn't say you know VB. In that case, just google for some examples. ASP is utter crap tho, you should consider ASP.NET if at all possible.

Hello all....
I'd like to use the BlendTrans filter when the source for my iFrame changes. Does anyone know how to do this? Each source has a meta refresh tag and I only want the BlendTrans to fire when the source changes, not each time the source refreshes. Tried for a couple hours with no luck.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I am trying to build a menu using CSS and Javascript. The menu is working fine. When I do a mouseover on the menu the menus collapse as per design. But the problem is on a revisit to the same SUBMENU. When I mouse over on the parent menu I get to see teh seubmenu I visited previously and If I revisit the menu after visiting another part of the menu, then only the UL/LI blank structure appears until I do a mouseover on the part menu again..
Attached are the Javascript used and the a snippet of the menu
Menu Snippet:
- Menu1
- Menu2
// JavaScript Document
startList = function()
{
if (document.all&&document.getElementById)
{
// alert("nid");
for(j=2; j<=5;j++)
{
navid = "nav"+ j;
// alert(navid);
navRoot = document.getElementById(navid);
// alert(navRoot.childNodes.length);
for (i=0; i
