If I understand the discussion of "Deploying a C# App" correctly, you can use the C# compiler to generate an executable that can run on any of the Win OS systems (95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP)...
I am right?

Windows 95 is not supported
Minimum Configuration Requirements
This section describes the minimum configuration requirements for a computer where the .NET Framework redistributable package is to be installed. If the minimum requirements are not met, Dotnetfx.exe setup will block the installation of the redistributable package. Specifically, note that you cannot install the .NET Framework redistributable package on a computer running the Microsoft Windows 95 operating system.

So that's the problem,you can use your .net applications(C# or VB.NET) only in OS that have .net platform.I think some new version of xp have .net platform so you can run your applications without any problem.I think you can dl .net platform here in CP or you can do it in MS site.

I got the same problem.
you need to have .NET on target machine.

Its not giving any error, but simply ignores what you doing..

What was the size of the attachment? Hotmail has a limit of a 1mb I think. It may be lower now.

How can I specify standard Icon IDs for Imagelist such as STD_COPY ( for Copy ). I could not find any way to specify such IDs to non-standard icons too. Is it possible at all to load icon using IDs in .Net?

After you add ImageList,click the button to the right of Images property.A dialog box will open.
At this path you can find some icons:
<drive>:\program files\visual studio.net\common7\graghics\icons.....

How did you create setup project? what attributes you specified in setup prg? Did you look at "WalkThrough" doc on MSDN? Send me some more detail, I hope I'll be able to help you.

It sounds like the target machine doesn't have the .NET runtime installed.
You can get the redistributable from this MSDN download page.

Hi,
I have been writing my own C# Documentation tool after noticing a large number of omissions from the XML documenter provided by Microsoft. It's still in a very alpha phase of development but I still believe it better than the Microsoft one. It is available for free from http://www.softsteel.co.uk/tutorials/cSharp/lesson19.html. The source code has also been released under the GNU GPL.
I will happily accept comments, suggestions, bug reports and patches at bugs@softsteel.co.uk.

The answer is:-
SelectQuery query = new SelectQuery("Win32_OperatingSystem");
ManagementObjectSearcher searcher = new ManagementObjectSearcher( query);
foreach (ManagementObject mo in searcher.Get())
{
System.Management.PropertyDataCollection moCollection;
moCollection = mo.Properties;
foreach (System.Management.PropertyData moValue in moCollection)
{
}
}
