Ever since installing Win2K3 I've had trouble with IE6. It constantly blocks ActiveX content, even for sites in the Trusted zone. I've modified the zone security settings to enable absolutely everything, but it hasn't changed the behavior. There must be some setting elsewhere that I haven't found - any clues?

Under the help menu in IE (on Server 2003) look for "Enhanced Security Configuration"
It has the instuctions how to configure it various ways.
Under "Apply Windows 2000 default Internet Explorer security settings" is the removal instructions to set it back to Pre-Enhanced Security Configuration.

hmmm.. I think I be checking that 2003 machine to see if it was compromised by some malware, spyware or ect..
Anyway, Here's is how is says to remove it:

If Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration is enabled on your server, you may find it necessary to use the default Internet Explorer security settings of Windows 2000.
1. Open Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs, and then click Add/Remove Windows Components.
2. Select Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration, click the check box to clear the selection, and then click OK.
3. Click Next and then click Finish.
4. Restart Internet Explorer to apply the changes.
Important
When you restore Windows 2000 security settings for Internet Explorer, you also restore the lists of Trusted sites and Local intranet sites that were in effect at the time Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration was applied.
Applying the Windows 2000 default Internet Explorer security settings increases your server's exposure to potential attacks from malicious Web-based content.

Computers in a network(LAN) are displayed in the workgroup(may be mshome,or other). How to get the list of these computers(DNS name or IP Addesses).Some PCs are displayed but they are not on a network, it means somewhere some information is stored in the temp file or registry.where these temp dirctories are stored?

I've been logging into my windows xp machine under a user thats a member of the administrators group, i know this bacause i checked "User Accounts" and it even says i'm Computer administrator with password protection.
My question is why do some programs like taskmgr is saying "Task Manager has been desabled by your administrator" when i try to open it?
Theirs a hudge possiblility for maleware also, but i'd like to try and fight it so i can learn from it.
Are there any patches for taskmgr for this sort of thing?

Look for an entry in Group Policy. I couldn't tell you where to look, since it confuses the heck out of me, too, but it's in there.

I know where to look, i saw, and even coded a quick program to check my access token. I'm admin. but taskmgr. says im not. like i said it could be malware also but are their any patches for taskmgr for this sort of thing?

Follow the link Roath posted. It has nothing to do with you being, or not being, an Admin. It has everything to do with being disabled by Policy, without any regard to who you are.
Because of a Policy restriction, the machine is just not allowed to run Task manager. It's that simple.

currently i am developing an application for audio playback, including local and online resources. I planned to use WMP SDK to help, however, one of my function needs me to be able to select/change the default audio device, however, it is not support by the SDK. I would like to know is there any other method to do so?

Change the registry settings in:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Multimedia\Sound Mapper
To the other device by "Name" in the keys - Playback and Record.

Yes, my mistake, apparently that only works with a soundblaster or compatable card installed.
Sorry, I'm no expert with the MP9 sdk and I don't have two audio devices installed so I've got no way to test this but in the IWMEncDeviceControl.GetInput and IWMEncDeviceControl.SetInput functions it looks like this is where microsoft is doing that (IWMEncDeviceControl Object).
Sorry I can't help you more, Take a look and see if this is what your looking for. (Notice the audio devices.. not the video devices)

Hi all:
I'm setting up a IPv6 environment and in which I can reach to a computer by pinging it from a XP host using "ping/ping6 fe80::e0:4cff:fe62:b619%5"(ping Link Local Address including the scope id), but when I changed the pinging source from XP to Win 2003 server the "destination host unreachable" was displayed. Is there any obvious answers as to how this could happened, or any references are available?

The only obvious answer is that there is no route between the 2003 machine and the ping target machine. Exactly what's causing that can't be determined from the error message.
You'll have to make sure the IP config on the 2003 machine is good and make sure that any switch/router devices between the two machines are configured properly. What that entails is up to each device you have in the LAN/WAN path.
