I'm done with my browser and things are working very nicely, thanks to a lot of advice from the people here.  My next project is a chat system but I'm not sure which approach would be best to take. I want to making the main application, that will nest all these other projects of mine (Browser, chat, ect), as peer-to-peer as possible in order to avoid as much server usage. I know that it will be unavoidable in certain cases but it is my ultimate goal. I've seen many examples on this site on chat systems but I'm not quite sure as to which is best. Any suggestions as to which type of system/approach would be best for this chat project of mine?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
When I lookin under "My Project", Settings, the value for my db connection is as follows:
Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=|DataDirectory|\dbSpringBook.mdb
Is this not correct for deployment, as the app should find where the .mdb file?

I don´t know what you mean by |DataDirectory|
but what you can try is:
Dim DatabasePath as string
DatabasePath=Application.StartupPath & "\dbSpringBook.mdb
"
Then
Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & DatabasePath
Put the database in the same path of your executable file.

Hi,
I have included the database file in the same path as my executeable, but when I run the Publish Wizard in visual studio, and then execute the setup wizard on another computer, it still cannot find the database file.
Any other suggestions?

Sure,
When I go to run the Published Install from another computer, I get the following error:
Could not find file 'C:\Documents and Settings\Rashar\Local Settings\Apps\2.0\Data\GHJ14R6W\Data\dbItems.mdb'
*********** Exception Tet *****************
System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Could not find File 'C:Documents and Settings\...dbItems.mdb
at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnectionInternal.ctor(OleDbConnectionString)
...
So if i hit continue on the error, the app will load up fine, but I do not see any data.
Under "My Project" in the Publish Tab, I have clicked on the Application Files button and ensured that my database is included in the publish.

I actually figured it out. I removed the database from my project, then readded it, and then selected the option Yes to copy database to project.

IIRC, the control will only work when it's on a form. You can't use it without one. There's nothing preventing you from putting it on a hidden form though...

Hi Abu,
The problem I see is that you are not adding the AxWebBrowser control to anything first before trying to use it. As far as I know you have to add it to a form, TabPage, Panel or GroupdBox or something like that. You can't just tell it to appear and start using it, it must be put on something of that nature first in order to use it. But I could be wrong, I'm new at this although I just finished working with the AxWebBrowser control to do a Web Browser myself.

Is there a quick n easy way to create an app that has a text box on the left where you can type in HTML, and a 'Web Browser' box on the right that can display the HTML from the text box?

yust place one textbox and one axwebbrowser
thats all
in textbox you type code, and when u click on button preview then the webb.visible=true
webb.enabled=true

I have displayed all the drives and their corresponding folders in treecontrol .Now the problem is I want to display the desktop (which contains my computer , recyclebin , network neighbourhood).But the desktop folder does not contain these things . These things might exist virtually in the desktop.But these have special paths and I don't know their path.

Hi!
I need to export data contained in the DataGridView control to Excel. The code provided here does the work, but not fully - when Excel opens the file, it recognises it like a "Tab delimited values" and import wizard appears. This is too complicated for (my) end users, so I need a way to write "real" xls file, without the need of end user action. Do you know how can I do this?
The code is:
