hi
I am using a query like
select * from cars where car_make in('BMW','Mercedes','Accura') But it gives an error if I use Single Qoute in any car_make for example...
select * from cars where car_make in('BMW','Mercedes','Accura','infin'it')
I am using MySQL with vb.net.
THanks in advance
Lets work it Out.........!

If you were using SQL Server, you would have to write :
select * from cars where car_make in('BMW','Mercedes','Accura','infin''it')
For MySQL I am not sure, but try it this way.. I hope it'll work.

In fact these are two single quotes (not a double quote).

|
|
|
|
Use parameterised queries, or replace the quote with two quotes.

That's very likely because your machine (localhost) is not an SMTP Server.

Hello,
Do you have SMTP Server correctly installed on your server, are you trying to access to a different server?
Check this website, it's a good starting point:

Good luck

Hi there. Are you assigning the event handler function to your button's click event? myButton.Click += new System.EventHandler(myButtonClickHandlerFunc);
Here's a fuller example of the kind of thing you're describing. Does this help?
<% @Page Language="C#" %>
<script runat="server">
const string SESSION_ROWCOUNT = "RowCount";
void Page_Load(object o, EventArgs e)
{
if (!IsPostBack)
CreateARow(0);
else
RecreateRows();
}
void CreateARow(int index)
{
TableRow r = new TableRow();
TableCell c = new TableCell();
TextBox tb = new TextBox();
tb.ID = "text_" + index.ToString();
c.Controls.Add(tb);
Button b = new Button();
b.ID = "button_" + index.ToString();
b.Text = "Add Another";
b.Click += new System.EventHandler(ButtonClick);
c.Controls.Add(b);
r.Cells.Add(c);
myTable.Rows.Add(r);
Session[SESSION_ROWCOUNT] = myTable.Rows.Count;
}
void ButtonClick(object o, EventArgs e)
{
CreateARow(myTable.Rows.Count);
}
void RecreateRows()
{
int iCount = 0;
if (Session[SESSION_ROWCOUNT] != null)
iCount = Convert.ToInt32(Session[SESSION_ROWCOUNT]);
for (int i=0; i<iCount; i++)
{
CreateARow(i);
}
}
</script>
<html>
<head>
<title>Dynamic TableRow Example</title>
</head>
<body>
<form runat="server">
<asp:Table id="myTable" runat="server">
</asp:Table>
<br />
<br />
<asp:Button id="btnForcePostback" runat="server"
Text="Force a non-row-creating postback"
/>
</form>
</body>
</html>

I have two GridView questions...
First, I have a GridView with two template columns that contain textboxes. There is no Edit Template, just an item template. You select a row with the "SELECT" link and then type in information in two text boxes. Each text box has autopost back once you tab away from the textbox. The problem I have is the selection process. What I would like to do is select the row simply by clicking within the textbox of a particular row so that I don't have to select the row first THEN click on the textbox. Is this possible, and if so, how?
Second, I have a row in the GridView which contains an ID and this row is hidden. How do I access the information in this row in order to do a DB update?
Thanks again for the help.

hi there,
i'm developing a licensing website with asp.net this side is related to vb6 client and server code. the clients code and the website work perfectly together - the client gives any information needed by the server to calculate the LicenseKey to the asp.net website. Now there comes the problem...
<br />
Dim oKernel As LicenserKernel.cKernel <br />
oKernel = New LicenserKernel.cKernel()<br />
<br />
sReleaseKey = oKernel.CalcKey(sRequestKey, sSessionID)<br />
When debugging the website the object (oKernel) is made properly, the function is recognized correctly (i can see this during debugging - it displays what parameters are needed and so on) but all i get back from the function is: "NOTHING"
When i debug the server code on his own (manually giving him all the parameters the client gave to the website), it works just fine...
Another problem is that with every postback a new window is opened. i don't want a hundred of windows to be opened. poor users! this should be easy to solve and i don't understand why i can't do this on my own...
Would be great if anyone could help me with that
Thanks a lot in advance and have a nice day,
SanDee

I would guess that this is a permissions thing. When you debug, your security context in the server process is that of your logged in user (behind the scenes NTLM authentication has taken place). However, if you remotely access the application from a VB6 app, then the security context will be that in which IIS runs, which is low privileged.

Hey, thanx for answering that quickly...
There's no problem to remotely access the ASP application from a vb6 app. The problem is located between the asp.net website and the serversided DLL...
btw. concerning my permissions: i'm in the groups of "administrator", "debugger", "developer" and "VS-Developers". This should be enough - i guess...
have a nice day!!!

Default security context for a web service call is Network Services (at least on Server 2003/IIS 6). You can explicitly set the credentials passed across before calling the service - from memory, i think it is something like myService.CredentialCache.

hi and thanx for answering...
unfortunately this is not the problem...
according to the msdn asp.net apps use the profiles of the user who is currently logged on or under whose profile the debugging is running...
so i go on searching for the solution...
enjoy your time...

Would it be worth running the server code in debug mode on it's own, fire up an instance of the VB6 app and check the current credentials that actually get passed. (Nothing against MSDN, of course, but sometimes...
