paddyboyd wasn't very clear on why you should do that and what it accomplishes.
There is no release option in the configuration manager because that settings is not used for web projects. Instead it's the setting in web.config that decides the build mode for the project.
Change the setting in web.config, and it will be build in release mode.
There is still no release option in the configuration manager, but that is as it should be, as that setting is not used.

I am working on a datagrid update... when I click on edit, I can get the textboxes but when I make the changes and click on the update button, I still have the old items in there... .can someone help? here is the code for my update command:

It's because you're not resetting the datasource of the gridview to the new updated dataset before binding.

I am developing a Dynamic Website's Admin Panel in asp.net using c#; I am having a problem in creating Product Ranking. Can anybody help me? I will be really thankful to you. Plz.......
Ranking means each product has a Dropdown List with it which shows its number of viewing on User Page like if a product has 4 in Dropdown List it is displayed at 4th position on user page. Moreover each Dropdown contains as many numbers as many there are products like (1, 2, 3, 4, ...) now if web admin changes one product's ranking other products' should automatically change.

If your data is stored in a database (I hope so), then simply extract the data from your database sorting by your "ranking" number.
SELECT * FROM yourTable ORDER BY yourRank.

look the example of email u r giving, nothing gets inactive u can still activate it, it just changes colors because of different colors for active links and visited links.
As for ur problem on the on_click event of whatever the user clicks to download the image, take a value in Session["Download"] = img_name;
and on page_Load check if Session["Download"] = img_name, if yes then turn image enabled = false; and flush the Session to "" so the user can do this again.

I have to write some data in excel sheet. I am able to write other datas, but when I m trying to write a numeric value with a leading zero it is trucating it as the cell format is general.
Anyone aware how can we change the cell format to text programmatically using asp.net.
