No I don't want to store any thing. Instead of File Selection Box, i need a Folder selecion box.
When user click Browse button he should get a folder selection box and once he selects a folder the full path of the folder has to be displayed in the text/edit box.

You can't. You upload files, not folders.
I suppose you could go with some non-standard thing like Java or ActiveX, but that takes all the fun out of it...

Hi All,
I have a requirement in which i need to run a script(Javascript probably) in the background which process's an aspx page to see whether there is any new tasks assigned to the logged in person. If so I need to refersh the particular grid which shows the ddetails and also need to pop up a small window(like a new mail popup window in outlook) saying that there are new tasks assigned.
The main part is that the task will be assigned by an admin or a super user to a person lower in authority and the popp up must come in the window of the lower authority.
Please help me with this.

I have one form in Asp.net and I want to remove ( disable) the close, maximize when opening the this Form. I write the following code.
window.open("/QCOnline/Source/Password.aspx","_blank","toolbar=no,close=no ,top=270,left=350, location=no, directories=no, status =no, menubar=no, scrollbars=no, resizable=no, copyhistory=no, width=340, height=187");
Maximize button is disable but close button is stil enable.
So Please if you know how to disable the close button.

I don't believe that it is possible to disable the close button. You can hack it a little big by handling the close click event, but i, personally, hate pages that do this. The close button is there for a reason...

Sorry to break it, but there is no way to do that, and for good reason. Disabling the close means the user can't shut the window down (horrible), and before someone says "What about Alt+F4, or ending it from Ctrl+Alt+Delete", remember not all people are very good with computers like that.

As far as i know, it's because Eolas didn't sue Mozilla. And i think the idea was to extract royalties from MS, not force inconvenient changes to IE - but MS won't fall for that, so change it is.

I have a jsp based application through which I am Invoking the .Net based Windows application, Now when this application open the associate .net Asseblies(.dll and .exe) are getting downloaded into the Global Assebly cache....
Now there are two problem
1) Inconsistent problem is whenever I open my Application it throws an error of the "Exception : File or Assembly Name ----,or one of dependencies, was not found.", after trying continously 3-4 time it will open my application,
2)Sometime it will throw this error "System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission, mscorlib, Version=1.0.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 failed"
Now Very Interesting thing is this "whenever I turned off my sophos services (all three), it wont throw any problem and works fine".
Well if anybody can help me it will be great help.

I realise "Seperating style from content" is the CSS credo, but it struck me as a good idea to take it one step further in my current project and try and bring XML, XSL and CSS together to seperate things out that little bit more.
The idea is that an admin with no coding or html knowledge can use an online editor to change information presented on the site in a user friendly manner.
To this end I figured, stick all the text data in XML, leave the XSL files that the admin wont touch to format all the lists tables, etc and have the CSS (again not touched by admin) apply the sites over all look to the data the XSL chucks out.
Now i can get the XSL to do my formating and the CSS to handle my style.... my problem is I'm not sure how to go about a layout for an XML document that will hold text to be displayed on a web site AND also handle some degree of formatting.
I know how to make an XML file but its more the "theory behind building a good template for web content" that im after.
At the end of the project I want my admin user to open up a text editor page, parse the exiting text for the selected page into an on page text editor box and be able to edit it, add formatting, semantics, carridge returns, etc then save the work and have it parsed back into the XML file as valid HTML.
At the moment i have no editor for the content built and the data sits in the XML as HTML between CDATA tags... which just looks messy and difficult to pass into an editor.
Can any one link me to any good artivles on building xml to hold web site data?

This sounds like a nice project. But, if I were you, I wouldn't want to invest all that work because it's hard and when it breaks, it comes back to you. Instead, I'd rather use something like DotNetNuke (www.dotnetnuke.com[^]). An administrator has the ability to go in and use a MS Word-like interface to create page content. It also has lots of other wonderful modules and a whole list of stuff out there you can buy/download to expand it.
FYI, DotNetNuke saves all the page content in a database instead of in files and makes heavy use of CSS for skins and other stuff.

Thanks Dustin as far as the project goes, it's more a learning experience than somthing I have to consider on a time/money basis. So getting my hands dirty is more the point than the drawback...
Still its nice to know about products like this for when i go pro so thanks for the link

I have a (main) table with a background image in which are cells that contain (internal) tables with their own background images. The main table's background image shows up just fine, but the internal ones down't show up at all.
