Hi , I wrote an application orginallay at visual studio 6.0 and there was not any problem when I compile on visual studio 6.0, but when I try to build my app on vs 2003 it says me "fatal error C1010: unexpected end of file while looking for precompiled header directive". at msdn help says "Did you inadvertently delete a #include statement that referenced the .h file that /Yu is looking for?" but I did not delete any header directive.
what caused this ?
should I change any project settings.? if it is which one ? 
please help ..

Actually this is not for me....see the query from my friend.
"I have created an EXE file (my application to be executed) and I want to keep it in a shared folder on the server. Up to 60 students from any computer lab need to run this exe file simultaneously (up to 10 is working now). The only problem is that my application need to read a MS Access database file (for just 2 seconds per user). But the server is allowing just one person to access a MS Access database! This is totally unacceptable. Somebody told me that there is an add-on program which will allow multiple persons to execute an application and simultaneously read MS Access databases."
I didnt work that much with database projects except some stand alone experiments. it would be very helpful if you give some inputs to resolve this issue.

Don't use access. Use a real database intended to be accessed concurrently.
In fact, don't use access ever and save yourself some giant headaches.

when i compile this program, it says:
LINK: fatal error LNK1104: Cannot open file "XXX.lib"
Error executing link.exe
1 error, 0 warnings;
What could likely be the problem? Is there something wrong with the library file? OH~ and of course the library file is there, not missing...

try giving the full path( Some times u haven't added that lib's lib path in the project settings)

do u mean i go to its cpp cloumn and type in its #include"C:/xxxx/xxxxx/XXX.h"

Find the library xxx.lib in ur system
and give the path in your projectsettings\Link\Object/LibraryModules
for example
give
C:/xxxx/Lib/xxx.lib
if the library is present in the C:/xxxx/Lib

But what if i have other library files to include? right now the probelm i'm facing is... I've listed down all the library files names in the
(this is how i link the library files up)
projectsettings\Link\Object/LibraryModules:
XXX.lib ZZZ.lib AAA.lib BBB.lib
however the computer could not find that particular "XXX.lib" (which happens to be the first in the list listed)
so what should i do?

ok i've tried.... when i moved "XXX.lib" behind "ZZZ.lib", compile, this time, "ZZZ.lib" could not be found

When you insert your lib files to project(linker->input) then your program is run or not

in the Category combo take "Input".
U can find a edit box saying Object/Library modules. Give tha name of the lib file there.
In the "Additional Library path" Edit box, give the path of the lib file

it will be good if u copy all the lib u want to link to one folder and give that path in the Additional include Directory.

erm........ well that's what i did.... all the library files, i put them into a folder called "include" and the "include" folder i put it in the folder where my .dsw, .cpp, .h files are.....

I have dialogbox and a menu. I want a menu item to be checked and unchecked when it is clicked. I tried OnUpdate...(CCmdUI* cmd) but its not showing the tick mark. and even its not disabling the menu item when i am disabling it.
How do this? Please help.
