You can't, really. You can get the execution time of part of the generation process, but not the whole. However, that is probably what the others that you saw does anyway. What you can't measure is the compilation and creation of the page object, and the rendering of the page. The compilation takes about three seconds for the first page, and the time used for object creation and page rendering doesn't vary very much, so it's not very interresting anyway.
Get the current time as early in the page creation process as you can, like in the PreInit or Init event. Then get the current time as late as possible while you still can put anything in the page, like in the PreRender event. Subtract the times and put the result in the page.

Okay thanks Guffa, I'll try doing something with that.
|
|
|
|
|
what ever guffa said is the better but slight change is
save the current time in
page on_init()
time1
page_render()
time2
procestime = time2-time1 then u will get absolute processtime

Have you tried to remove all the files that are related to the source control, then open the project again?

I have my own public IP Adress, and a computer connected to Internet 24 hours/day.
Please tell me how can I publish my ASP project to Internet?
Or alternatively, suppose I would like not to use my computer as a hosting server. Is there a way to publish my ASP project in Internet for free?
any advises are highly appreciated

Its already published.
If you have a fixed ip address then you might want to get a Domain name then use a DNS service to broadcast to the world.

I’m familiar with vb.net but am just learning asp.net and I’m having trouble developing the client-side script. I’m confused about how to go about executing specific script on another asp.net page. I have a project that consists of two asp.net webforms; one with a map and one with a datagrid. When the user makes a selection on the datagrid, I would like to execute existing script on the map page. I would also like to send values from the datagrid to the javascript on the map page. I'm trying hard to learn asp.net, but I can’t find any documentation that describes this typr of process... maybe I’m going about it the wrong way.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Browser sercurity will prevent you from altering a different browser page. Best you can do is get the page to refresh itself every few seconds and pickup the new information.
You could use panels on the same browser page and switch between them.

Hello Everybody,
I am trying to make a simple photo album, I have two directories and lots of pictures. Can you kindy give me any idea how to display these many pictures on one pages and if the user wants to change the directory. I am using vb codes to do this. Kindly give me an idea how to start atleast.
I don't want to copy but want to understand and learn the concept too.
Thanks in advance.

Start by dispalying one single picture. Then try and pick this picture from a directory without specifing the filename and display it. Then try it with 2 pics etc...
Then list the pics and display them on click.
Look where you want to go not where you don't want to crash.

Go to WROX.com's website. There is a book called "Instant results with ASP.NET 2.0" that book contains a sample Photo Album among other examples. They are ALL written in ASP.NET 2.0(VB.NET)
Good luck!

<add name="ADConn" connectionString="LDAP://jvmhq.local/CN=vernserver,DC=jvmhq,DC=local"/>
</connectionStrings>
I need to be able to authenticate username/password against Active Directory for a web site I am developing on my local system. The above connection string does not enable me to get to my domain Active Directory. Please advise.

My apologies, I'm new at using the CodeProject so I hope my string will show this time. Thank you for letting me know that it didn't the first attempt.
I'm trying to connect to my local domain controller to access users and groups from Active Directory for purposes of authentication on a web site I am designing.

The location would be with Screen Coordinates right? Also which part of the window would be touching that coordinate(I'm guessing top left, but not sure)?
