Hi to all,
How is it possible and help needed in "Drag a control(like textbox,button etc some where on the page and Drop it on a cell of a table which is on the same page".
Just like when we create a table with some rows and columns on a ASP.Net webpage and from ToolBox when we drag a control and drop it on any of the cell of a table, then the control's parent is now that table and that cell will adjust to the control's size.
I need the same concept for my application. Can anybody help me in this regard.

Well, I'm sure it is possible, not with ASP.NET, but with Javascript. Try to search the web for "Javscript drag & drop" or something like this. I hope you will find something useful.
Generaly you have to keep structure of controls on server, when you do drag&drop on client, javascript should raise a postback and tell server which control was moved to which parent, then structure is changed on server, html is regenerated and sent to a client again. Or you can keep the structure in javascript all the time without a postback and send info to server only when clicked 'Save' button for example...
Anyway, you have to do lots of javascript coding probably, if you don't find exact solution for you problem on the web.

I want to create the web application for rendering 3d women character with different dress images on screen like, http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/mvm.do?BV_UseBVCookie=No&vertical=CLTH&vid=99.
Can anybudy suggest me what technology they have used for this. Can we create the applicatons like this in asp.net.

I believ so
There is a few ways you can do it.
1) GSM
2) GPRS
3) Via the internet.
You must decide
I have done a few applications where a I used a GSM/ GPRS modem. It sends a SMS or a update to a website using UDP

U need a modem (GSM/GPRS)
You use the AT command set to 1) connect to the network, 2) Atttach to the nework 3) send your sms 4) deattach from the nework 5) Disconect from the network
The new modems do step 1+2 and 4+5 in one go.
The above is for a GRPS session.
With GSM it is more simple, just use the AT command set as decribed in the manual of the modem and send the SMS

Let me help you, if you are relationated with XML Web Services, you can use this easy solution.
first.

you will find the Send SMS World Web Service, this web service Send unlimited free SMS to a countries who support it.
Second.
add Web service Reference to your ASP.NET project
the address is http://www.webservicex.net/sendsmsworld.asmx
The name for the reference is in this example is ServerSms
third.

As soon as I try to save the file then the VS tells me I do not have access to this file.
I checked but the file is not read only
Any ideas?

I get same error when i tried to made some changes in .css file via application.
Right click on file click on properties.Go security tab in dialog box
and add ASPNET and give full rights to it.If it not works then try same thing for EVERYONE.Hope it works as its work for me.

This error is coming because its unable to find control "TextBox1". Recheck it again and give the proper ID of the textbox to find it.

Hi All!
I wonder whether at all it is possible to assign different tooltips for each value in a dropdownlist.I need this as I'm using a dropdown list which may contain 128 characters,when it does it looks ugly.So I want to limit the character dispalyed in dropdownlist and dispay all characters in the tooltip instead when it is selected.

I developed an application that connects to a MySQL database using a web service coded in c#. The prototype of the web service was developed with VS2003. The prototype worked great.
I completed the web service functionality after upgrading to VS2005. My remote host does not support .NET 2. How can I build the web service as a .NET 1.0 web service from VS2005?

Avoid naming conflict in ASP.NET [2.0]
I found this while developing three tire ASP.NETbase web application.
Suppose you have a class library in the same solution as your web app. Name the class library as ReferMe and rename the class in it as Getit [see the following code]

using System.Text;
namespace ReferMe

public class Getit
{
public string Name()

return "this is a test";
}
}
}
Build this class project [class library].
Now add its refrence in your web project [using add reference /project]. Import this library in default.aspx.cs code behind file [see the following code]
using ReferMe;

protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Getit g = new Getit();
Response.Write(g.Name());
}
}
This code will work and default.aspx will show "this is test” in browser.
Now add another page to the same web project as Getit.aspx. and change the code behind file [see the following code]

Response.Write("Done");
}
}
Now if you try to run the default.aspx [view it in browser] – following error message will pop up
in default.aspx.cs : Getit does not contain the definition for Name [i.e. g.Name() will not work]. If you comment out following lines in default.aspx.cs i.e. code behind for the default.aspx
using ReferMe;
Response.Write(g.Name());
Default.aspx will build successfully. [Please note that code line Getit g = new Getit(); is not an error]This is weird but true.
What is happening is that the public partial class Getit defination [in Getit.aspx.cs] is conflicting with ReferMe.Getit class in ReferMe class library. This error can be resolved by either changing Getit.aspx to Getit1.aspx or ReferMe.Getit to ReferMe.Getit1
So be careful in naming your webpage and classes in your class library projects.
