By the way I messed up my project by adding and deleting a dialog and rename the new with the old one. can't open class wizard and keeps on prompting to locate the source even though I set selected it already

If need be, you can add the code by hand. All it requires is declaring an integer variable in your dialog class, and adding the DDX and DDV calls in DoDataExchange. If you create another dialog app to test it with, you can see the format for those function calls.

If the maximum value for the edit control is 999, for example, use SetLimitText(3). If the maximum value is something else like 756, you can't keep 757 from being pasted or typed into the control, but you can disable the OK button. There are other possible solutions, but without more knowledge of the problem, those would be guesses at best.

By means of "subclassing" the CEdit you can overwrite it's message handlers. This way you can sort out the characters you want to block. Search for "Subclassing" or "SubclassDlgItem" here in the forum. There are good articles about the subject.

I am writing a program based on a site.
When the user click the "scan" button on the page, a dll will start to work.It will enum the disk for some special files. Then it will return the data to the script.

Now, I want to display a "gif" to show something like "scanning,Please waiting....." .
But my problem comes. Maybe the enum program has used most of the CPU time , the "gif" can not be shown until the enum data retrives. During the wating time,the user can to nothing in the IE.
So, is there any method to solve this ?

Could someone give me some examples on decoding ascii85??
I have a rather large file encoded in ascii85 and I need to convert to binary.
The file is around 6mb in size.

Could someone please explain the sequence of events to decode this to binary data please.
Seems there is lots of info on encoding but only one example of decoding which I dont really understand.

How do I apply my ASCII85 string to this code?
The entire file is not ascii85, only about 80% is.
The rest is straight ASCII text.

You probably won't be able to just copy-and-paste that code. Most likely, you will be able to use it derive your own ASCII85 decode method (the one in that link mixes loading the file with decoding it, which isn't very modular).

So once you have your file loaded, you just have to know the format the file is in (hopefully the ASCII85 data is all lumped together) and you just decode the portion that needs it and leave the rest as it is.

How to add keyboard shortcuts to menu..item..by default Ctrl+N for new document..it is provided by default..i want my own..shortcut keys to the new added menu items..will it work just by adding Ctrl+some character.or ..do i need to any extra work...please help..

Use the debugger, it will show you where the memory was allocated and give you a dump of the values. If it was a string, this is REALLY helpful. A bitmap, less so Smile | :)

1. What is the short-cut for run to cursor (or run to current line) command?

2. How to modify the value of some variables during debugging?
