Hi,
+ You may try to use asp:LinkButton instead of HyperLink. B'Coz NO click event is available with Hyperlink.
+ Incase of LinkButton, it appears like a HyperLink, but you can use it as a Normal asp:Button Server control. Use its Click Event. And use its PostBackUrl property for Navigation like src property in HyperLink.

In ASP.NET 1.1, from by BusinessLayer(a class library project), I used to get Connection string as :
string dsn =ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["connection"];
and pass to DataAccessLayer(DAL). It worked.
On 2.0, if I used the previous one, it warns saying it is obsolete. If I put connection string in <connectionstring>, they have new settings..... like this:
string dsn = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionString["connection"];
It gives me error. Moreover, I cannot get ConfigurationManager class from my Business Layer.
How should I pass connection string from BusinessLayer to DAL using ConfigurationManager.
Please reply....
Thanks.

Hi, there,
I'm trying to open and edit a exsiting Web project on a new server using Visual Studio. But I got problem opening it, the error message as following:
" The web server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the web project located at the following URL:'http://TIME/medical'. 'The server name or address could not be resolved'. "
I'm aware that 'medical' is the project namespace, and 'TIME' is the old server name-I suppose. So, how do I change the project so it can be opened in a new server?
Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How to get the text displayed in two lines for an asp:Button control using C#.Net.
for example :
<asp:button id="btnbutton1" runat="server" text="Find an Existing product ID" height="48px" width="200px">
so "Find an Existing" should be in first line and "product ID" should display in second line

I'm afraid you cannot as the button server control normally renders to an input element (either submit or button type) that bascially cannot contain more than one line. So your chance is the button[^] element or rethink about your UI, for example consider an Image button or Link button instead that may do what you need.

Try this
swissmiss86
button1.text="Swiss" + System.Environment.Newline + "Miss" + System.Environment.Newline + "86"

Hi ,
I have a DataGrid in which I have two linkbuttons namely Change and View bounded to the DataGrid. On Clicking Change linkbutton I have to open a new open popup window which has to accept the corresponding change functionalities and when i click View linkbutton i have to open another new popup window which accepts the corresponding change functionalities. For that shall i write a procedure in codebehind(vb) in my Code page. But if i write a new procedure, In what name(ie,, onclick or onitembound) i can call the procedure in my clientside validation(ie.., HTML View) . I don't get any idea. It's confusing me for more than three days. Anybody Pls help me with a proper solution.
Thanx in Advance

Actually you can call your javascript stuffs in onitemdatabound event of the datagrid. There what you need to do is to find the control first and then assign the javascript to that.

I'm in need of a good TextBox control with formatting capabilities. I've found FreeTextBox http://freetextbox.com/[^] which seems pretty nice, but I'd like to hear if someone can recommend an alternative or if you have some experience with this one?
All info highly appreciated.

Hi there,
The FreeTextBox is a good choice as far as I can see. If you want to look at other options, here are some:

I have a Web User Control that has a single Label in it that says "My User Control." I expose a property called ControlText that gets and sets the Label's text.
In my Visual Studio designer, I drop the user control on my page, and I see a visual representation of my control that says, "My User Control." All is good.
In the properties pane, I set the ControlText property to "Test." When I run the page, my label says "Test," which is great. However, I want my user control to say "Test" at design time too (not "My User Control").
Is there an easy way to do this?
|
|
|
|
|
AFAIK, the web user control does not support this design-time behaviour, and the easy way is to develop a custom control instead.

I am trying to use a Custom Membership provider. I have set everything up and when i go to run it it keeps giving me the error Could not find stored procedure 'dbo.aspnet_CheckSchemaVersion'. This a stored procedure in the default table that studio creates for. Any one got any suggestions?
