i m using asp.net datagrid with its paging. there are only 20 rows per page and previous next to move from 1 to onwards, problem is when i load whole data in data table memory of aspnet_wp process shoots. i want to keep the table so that when sorting i dont have to get data from database.

It's not a memory problem. It's a programming problem. Don't retrieve 10 million rows at one time.

then how can i use it with datagrid
now i m using

DataTable dt = GetDataTableFromDB();
grid.DataSource = dt;
grid.DataBind();
Session["dt"] = dt;

this data table contains all the rows based on search criterea and which can be 10 million, then in sortcommand event i m using

DataTable dt = (DataTable)Session["dt"];
DataView dv = dt.DefaultView;
//Sort criterea
grid.DataSource = dv;
grid.DataBind();

It's possible that it is a problem with temporary files. Check the settings for temporary files in the browser. The default setting is that it uses a certain percentage of the disk space, which may be much more than it can handle. Set the limit to a reasonable value, like 50 MB.

Hi everyone,

Here's the situation.

We migrated an ASP (VB) site from machine 1 to machine 2

Machine 1 had IIS, SQL Server.
Machine 2 has IIS, SQL Server and .NET Framework 1.1

The site from machine 1 used to work perfectly.
But when requesting pages from the new server for index.asp,
I get the following error.

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 80040111'

Server.CreateObject Failed

//global.asa, line 36

ClassFactory cannot supply requested class

Please help. If you need more info, please ask.

Now I'm getting the followign error after changing some IIS settings:

I am a PHP developer just starting out with ASP.NET, still a novice.

Days in PHP were good, this stupid ASP sucks anyways. PHP was much
better and much easier, and equally powerful, if not more.

register a dll? Ever heard of the oracle joke? here goes:

There were different jokes of how you can shoot yourself in the

The menus for coding foot_shooting have not been implemented yet, and you can't do foot_shooting in SQL.

I didn't sense any hostility. He answered your question. Your DLL has not been registered on the server. Thus, it cannot create an instance of that class because it doesn't exist.

Sorry Guffa, being bogged down with the same problem for two days
really got into me. Really didn't mean to be that rude. (but hey,
teh jokes weren't that bad, were they? Wink | ;)

The problem is fixed. Copied the dll and registered it on the new
server. And it works like a charm.
