Hi everyone,
here's the scenario:
Workstation 1: Web Server (IIS), Database Server (SQL 2000)
Document Root: Somewhere on LAN, not on workstation 1 (but can be accessed from workstation 1)
Virtual Directory is mapped to the document root and site runs like a
charm.
Now, we need to make another folder on the lan searchable.
It's mammoth, has PDF, PPT, DOC, XLS etc etc.
- Can the Microsoft indexing Service help?
- Can it index PDF and other filetypes like DOC PPT XLS?
- And is it very difficult to create an ASP/ASP.NET based
query page to retrieve and display results?

Hi ALl
I have datagrid in asp.net form. which contains three field.Second field is my button column.
when i click on first row ,I get summation as per my logic.I put this summation in my third column of my datagrid.
Now problem is that:when i click on second row button,I get summation.But I put this summation in my third column of my first row.
How can i do that?

Hello Everyone
Suddenly when i am running .net i used to get this error.
The instruction at"0x004018ff" referenced memory at "0x00000002".The memory could not be "written".Click on ok to terminate the program.Click on Cancel to debug the program.
Although i was running my projects till yesterday.
what happened to it.
can anyone give some idea.
or i have to finally reinstall .net on my PC.

Dear all,
I have developed a custom toolbar control. The toolbar control is entirely developed of a html table. on the click event of the cells of the table i added a server side method. it is working fine, clicking the cell will execute the corresponding server side method and gets post back. Know my requirement is that i have to add client side method which has to be executed first and depending up on the result i have to call the server method or simply ignore the click event. When i add the client side method to its clck event the server method is not at all being called on the click event. it just executes the client method and not allowing me to take the decission. Can any body help me regarding this. i have tested return true and return false too. no use

Hi friends,
I want to upload and download .txt file in my web application.
Uploading part is completed successfully but when I am download the same file and reopen it,it contain complete html code of current page why this is so.
In case of .doc file this problem not occured.

hi,
simply pass the address of the file in the navigateUrl of link
hypLink.NavigateUrl = "../files/test.txt"
or
hypLink.NavigateUrl = "../files/test.doc"
you wouldn't have to do all the complex coding that you are doing right now.

This is nice idea.
It's ok for .doc file but if navigateurl is .txt file it will not show prompt for OPEN/SAVE/CANCEL.

I have a page in which I have used <ifram> in which another page is included. In that <ifram> page there is text box named txtPO. I want to use that txtPO in the parent page and want to store its value in a variable i-e strPO. How is that posible. (ASP.NET and VB.NET) Please explain with example.

How to pass argument from server side to javascript function?
Like

this is my server side code and mybtn is my javascript function.
I want to pass index1 which is my variable as argument in my function.
How to do that?
