OK, you have a choice when escape characters are wanted as literal in strings:
you need to change
+ "\u" +
to
+ @"\u" +
or
+ "\\u" +

am not using an escape characters, i want to change from the ASCII code, so for example:
when i write in code:
messagebox.show("\u0064");
it will show me the character 'd' on the message that appear, so i can't use '\\u' instead of using '\u'
now what can i so to solve this problem

Aloha,
We are creating a windows app. that will read some information from a website.
Our problem is that the target website doesn't like our requests, it complains that our app. is an undefined HTTP_USER_AGENT.
We can access the website with IE and Firefox, so now we are looking for a way to make our windows app. look like one of these browsers when it requests a webpage.
Any idea how we can do that?

Try looking up the WebBrowser Control which comes with .Net2

I have this message of error when I run my app with a server and a client and I have serializable objects.
An unhandled exception of type
'System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException' occured
Additional information :
Because of security of restriction, the type
System.Runtime.Remoting>ObjRef cannot be accessed.

This is a restriction with remoting and serialization I'm assuming.
It is caused because you need to alter the typeFilterLevel settings from their default to "Full"
Below is an example of the App.Config section. You can do this in code too, just search for typefilterlevel.

<formatter ref="binary" typeFilterLevel="Full" />
</serverProviders>

Where I can change this setting? Where is App.Config.

I put that before my class on the server who make the serialization.
And still doesn't work

OK since you do not have an App.config file you must have some code that sets up the remoting below is an example of how to set the typeFilterLevel in code provided by microsoft and reproduced here for convenience:

How do I get my label to update on the form before my program enters the function? currently the form does not update until the download function hits a message box that is in it.

Hi i am building an xml file to use in my app but the links in the xml file need to be encoded using the Server.URLEncode() function but as the file is being built in a seperate class that class does not have access to the Server.URLEncode() function, so im basically looking for advice as to how i would work around this any help appreciated

im using fusion charts and as there is a parameter in the url the url placed in the xml fileneeds to be encoded
actually i have the problem solved now but i have a brand new one
when the chart is clicked(for drill down) it returns to the same url but does not always run the Page_Load function does anyone know why this would be happening

I am downloading a file and using the function below to read data from the site. It seems that the file downloads a little faster through firefox but not much, is there a better way to download the file? Can I increase the size of my Byte Array?

Download speed is dependent on many factors, you code only being one of them and most likely not the problem.

Why not use the Response.OutputStream method? Or if you use framework 2.0, you can use the Response.TransmitFile method.
