use the following:

e.Row.Attributes.Add("onmouseover", "this.style.backgroundColor= 'pink'");
e.Row.Attributes.Add("onmouseout", "this.style.backgroundColor= 'white'");

Will anyone teach me how to create a web service, and call that in my web application using C# or VB.net code behind.. The web page can be of a simple form control. It can be Simple read and update of database through the web service. I want to have the application to be of n-tier archieture, which will give me a chance to understand the concepts of web based application in .net and .net layers..

Is somebody here who use the Zoho api? I have a problem with showing a document in zoho.writer. I know an api key, ticket and document id, the web service receives the xml but I'd like to open the document in zoho.writer.

Even if you use a reg expression I would suggest using System.DateTime.TryParse.
You don't want to save something like "2/30/07".

What do you mean by "oleobject"? Is this just binary data?

In SQL Server binary data can be stored in an image column in SQL Sever 2000 or a varbinary(max) column in SQL Server 2005.

Hi
I am looking to control database concurrency by inserting a row in database containing session(userid), it checked against the table to see if the record is display only or editable. My problem is what if the app/computer shut down and the app not close properly, the record will be logged in the table.

What i need is something that would fire an action to remove the row whenever there is a close down of the app. I could use session_end but it just fire the action when session end, but what i want is when application end.

Please help.. Very urgent!!

I take it your using a Global.asax file for the Session_End? You can also define an Application_End method. However if the app doesn't close properly (eg the computer crashes) my guess is this isn't called.

I use a different approach that might work for you. In your code right before you run your select statement (to databind a grid or whatever) call a stored procedure to unlock records.

Here is an example of the proc I use. It unlocks any record locked by the current user or any record locked over 20 minutes. After I unlock the records I populate the grid for my user. The session end event does not get called if the aspnet process gets recycled (which can happen).

thanks very much for your help. One more thing, in this case, means if a user has opened a record for over 20mins,it should redirect to a session time out page. but how do i detect if its been time out in aspxpage?

In .NET there are two kind of variables. One is stored in HEAP (objects) .. some are in Stack. Now how these memory is clened. Who takes care of Stack and Heap once the execution is over.

The memory allocation in the stack is done when a method is called, and the stack is restored when the method returns.

The heap is managed by the garbage collector. At certain intervals it runs a sweap that removes unused objects.
